Position: Director, Data Analytics & Insight 

Department: Information Technology

Work Location: Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)

  • Dallas, TX

  • El Paso, TX

Hybrid Schedule: Helen of Troy associates enjoy the advantages and flexibility of a hybrid working model, allowing for in office 3 days minimum, and remote 2 days. Any changes to this working model would be communicated accordingly.

What you will be doing:

Strategic Leadership in Data & Analytics 

  • Develop and execute a data and analytics strategy that aligns with Helen of Troy’s business goals. 

  • Partner with business teams across supply chain, finance, sales, marketing, and operations to understand analytical needs and translate them into actionable insights. 

  • Lead the design and development of enterprise data solutions, ensuring scalability, governance, and compliance. 

Data Platform Development & Optimization 

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of data warehouses and data lakes built on Oracle ERP (EBS & Fusion). 

  • Lead the creation and management of ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data. 

  • Ensure seamless integration between Oracle ERP, OBIEE, and Power BI, delivering reliable reporting and analytics. 

  • Implement data modeling best practices (star schema, dimensional modeling) to enhance performance and accessibility. 

Advanced Analytics & Business Intelligence Enablement 

  • Drive the adoption of Power BI as the primary BI tool, developing dashboards and self-service analytics solutions for business users. 

  • Lead OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition) reporting initiatives to enhance enterprise-wide reporting capabilities. 

  • Establish data governance frameworks ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with industry standards. 

  • Develop KPIs and analytics frameworks to drive insights across CPG and retail data. 

  • Support the business with predictive and prescriptive analytics, enabling data-driven decision-making. 

Collaboration & Business Partnership 

  • Work closely with finance, supply chain, marketing, and operations teams to drive data-centric strategies. 

  • Provide training and mentorship to business users, ensuring a data-driven culture across the organization. 

  • Collaborate with IT teams to enhance Oracle ERP reporting and analytics capabilities. 

  • Partner with external vendors and consultants to maximize the value of data initiatives. 

Governance, Compliance & Best Practices 

  • Establish and enforce data security, compliance, and privacy policies for all data assets. 

  • Monitor data warehouse performance and optimize infrastructure for cost and efficiency. 

  • Continuously explore and implement new technologies and best practices in data management and analytics. 

Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with business teams to enable data-driven decision-making. 

  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with experience managing data engineers and analysts. 

  • Ability to drive change and foster a data-centric culture within an organization. 

  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 

  • 10+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering

  • 5+ years in a leadership/supervisory role. 

  • Proven experience in implementing enterprise data platforms integrated with Oracle ERP(EBS and Fusion). 

  • Strong knowledge of CPG and retail industry data, including POS, demand forecasting, and category management analytics. 

  • Deep understanding of data modeling (star schema, relational databases, and dimensional modeling). 

  • Hands-on experience with SQL, Power BI, and OBIEE. 

  • Experience managing large-scale analytics projects in a corporate environment. 

  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree

  • Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Data Services and experience in migrating on-prem to cloud-based data platforms. 

  • Familiarity with AI-driven analytics, predictive modeling, and machine learning. 

  • Experience with API-based data integrations and real-time analytics frameworks.
