As an Analytics Engineer, you will:
• Develop, design, and maintain reports using SQL to meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather report requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security in reports, dashboards, and scorecards.
• Optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for efficient data usage and report development.
• Collaborate with the data analyst and IT teams to enhance reporting capabilities.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI/Tableau reports and dashboards to communicate performance metrics.
• Build and maintain data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data into Power BI/Tableau.
• Provide actionable insights and identify opportunities for operational and financial improvement.
• Create and deliver custom ad-hoc reports as needed.
• Perform complex data analysis and reporting, ensuring quality and alignment with business objectives.
• Act as a subject matter expert regarding business client/contract performance opportunities by analyzing data, reports, and performance indicators of utilization trends, service costs, and episodic processes.
A day in the life:
• Gather requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into reporting solutions.
• Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL reports to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance reporting systems and processes.
• Build and update Power BI/Tableau dashboards to meet business needs.
• Work with raw data to create and maintain ETL processes for reporting.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to report performance or data integrity.
• Provide insights from data analysis to guide decision-making.
• Conduct QA to ensure reports meet stakeholder expectations.
• Manage both routine and ad-hoc report requests.
• Stay current with emerging BI tools and technologies to drive continuous improvement.
• Train end-users on how to interact with and interpret Power BI/Tableau reports.
• Create stored procedures and functions to improve reporting efficiency.
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code following best practices.
• Conduct regular code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Respond to changing requirements and technical issues associated with managing data reports.
• Follow and comply with all corporate policies related to data management, security, and HIPAA.

RequirementsWe are excited about you if you have these things:
• 5 years’ experience developing SQL codes in support of enterprise or organizational reports.
• 5 years’ experience managing large datasets to develop reporting solutions for Medicare Advantage plans, ACOs, 500+ physician group practices, and/or large hospital delivery systems.
• 5 years’ experience with Power BI and/or Tableau.
• 5 years’ experience with project management tools or methodologies.
• 5 years’ experience using an IT Service Management tool for incident and request tracking.
• Value-based care financial, operational, clinical, and revenue management experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills and mindset.
• In-depth understanding of database management systems, OLAP, ETL processes, framework, and data integration.
• Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, and database design.
• Expertise in SQL, SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services), and familiarity with data management tools for creating and managing reports, including queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Expertise in building reports, dashboards, and scorecards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining population health, claims, clinical, and contract data sets across all lines of business (commercial, Medicare/ACO, MA, Medicaid, etc.).
• Proven project management acumen with strong attention to detail, organizational skills, project forecasts, and time management.
• Ability to thrive in a performance-based and highly matrixed environment.
• Ability to automate data processes and optimize report delivery.
