Kentro is hiring an experienced Journeyman Quality Assurance Engineer to support a DOD SOCOM opportunity. Kentro will provide the Government with program management and services related to emerging technology solutions including Enterprise Architecture (EA) and data science, application development and management support, training, and enterprise ecosystem support.
Responsibilities:
- Test Planning and Design: Develop and document test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on project requirements, functional specifications, and design documents.
- Manual and Automated Testing: Execute manual and automated tests across web, mobile, and desktop applications to identify defects and ensure software quality. Collaborate in the development of automated test frameworks.
- Defect Tracking and Reporting: Log, track, and manage software defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla). Collaborate with development teams to prioritize and resolve issues.
- Regression Testing: Perform regression testing after code updates or new releases to ensure stability and functionality of existing features.
- Performance and Load Testing: Conduct performance, load, and stress testing to evaluate system scalability and response times.
- Collaborative Testing: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and product managers, to understand project objectives and ensure testing covers all use cases.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed test documentation, including test cases, results, defect reports, and user guides as needed.
- Quality Assurance Standards: Contribute to the improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the testing function.
- Compliance and Security Testing: Ensure that software meets relevant compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO) and perform security testing to identify vulnerabilities.
Requirements
- Journeyman level: A Bachelor's Degree and 3 - 10 years of relevant experience
- Substitutions for education:
- Associate's Degree plus 4 years work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree
- 6 years work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree
- Preferred Skills:
- Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) for test automation is preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work within a collaborative environment.

- Certifications:
- ISTQB Certified Tester or equivalent QA certification is a plus.

- Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git), continuous integration environments, and database testing.
- Clearance Requirements:
- Must have an active Secret clearance
