Overview
PepsiCo Data Governance Program Overview:
PepsiCo is establishing a Global Data Governance program that will be the custodian of the processes, policies, rules and standards by which the Company will define its most critical data.
Enabling this program will:
- Define ownership and accountability of our critical data assets to ensure they are effectively managed and maintain integrity throughoutPepsiCo’s systems
- Leverage data as a strategic enterprise asset enabling data-based decision analytics
- Improve productivity and efficiency of daily business operations
Responsibilities
The Customer Data Steward Manager (MDM) role is responsible for working within the global data governance team to conduct and manage Data Assessments, define and manage Data Standards and Data Quality rules with business stakeholders.
This role will initially be focussed on leading the Global Customer MDM requirements definition and associated implementation activities. Our Global Customer Master Data Management (MDM) solution will create a global customer golden record by consolidating and managing customer data from various sources into a single, accurate, and comprehensive profile. This "golden record" will serves as the single source of truth for all customer information, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and completeness across the organization.
Primary Accountabilities:
- Manage Data Requirements collection, Data Assessment, Data Quality Management, and cataloging for the Global Customer MDM solution.
- Ensure data accuracy and adherence to PepsiCo defined global governance practices, as well as driving acceptance of PepsiCo's enterprise data standards and policies across the various business segments.
- Maintain and advise relevant stakeholders on data governance-related matters in the customer domain and with respect to MDM, with a focus on the business use of the data.
- Define Data Quality Rules from Source systems, within the Enterprise Data Foundation and through to the End User systems to enable End to End Data Quality management to deliver a seamless user experience.
- Advise on various projects and initiatives to ensure that any data related changes and dependencies are identified, communicated and managed to ensure adherence with the Enterprise Data Governance established standards.
- Accountable for ensuring that data-centric activities are aligned with the GDG program and leverage applicable data standards, governance processes, and overall best practices.
Data Governance Business Standards:
- Ensures alignment of the data governance processes and standards with applicable enterprise, business segment, and local data support models.
- Champions the single set of Enterprise-level data standards & repository of key elements pertaining to their in-scope data domain (e.g Customer, Material, Vendor, Finance, Consumer) and promoting their use throughout the PepsiCo organization.
- Advise on various projects and initiatives to ensure that any data related changes and dependencies are identified, communicated and managed to ensure adherence with the Global Data Governance established standards.
Data Domain Coordination and Collaboration:
- Responsible for helping identify the need for Global, Region/Sector-level data standards.
- Collaborates across the organization to ensure consistent and effective execution of data governance and management principles across PepsiCo's enterprise and analytical systems and data domains.
- Accountable for driving organizational acceptance of GDG established data standards, policies, and definitions and process standards for critical / related enterprise data.
- Promotes and champions PepsiCo's Global Data Governance Capability and data management program across the organization.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $106,400 - $178,100.
- Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
- Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
- Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience working in Customer Operations, Data Governance or Data Management within a global CPG (Consumer Packaged Good) company; Strong data management background who understands data, how to ingest data, proper data use / consumption, data quality, and stewardship.
- 8+ years of experience working with data in the specific Customer /Order to Cash domain, associated processes, involved systems and data usage. This can be from a data management or a business operational perspective.
- Ability to partner with both business and technical subject matter experts to ensure standardization of operational information and execution of enterprise-wide data governance policies and procedures are defined and implemented.
- 6+ years of experience working with data quality tools/technologies, including strong knowledge of MDM solutions compling data from multiple sources to create a trusted 'Golden Record', workflow, monitoring, and reporting functionality.
Competencies:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of master data and transactional data elements and processes per the necessary in-scope data domain (i.e. Customer, Material, Vendor, Finance, Consumer).
- Strong knowledge of Data Quality Management, Data Profiling, DQ rule definition and management best practices.
- Strong Communication Skills/Able to Persuade/Influence Others at all Organization Levels and the ability foster lasting partnerships.
- Ability to translate business requirements into critical data dependencies and requirements.
- Ability to think beyond their current state (processes, roles and tools) and work towards an unconstrained, optimized design.
- An ability to solicit followership from the functional teams to think beyond the ‘way the things work today.
- Able to align various stakeholders to a common set of standards and the ability to sell the benefits of the EDG program.
- Foster lasting relationships across varying organizational levels and business segments with the maturity to interface with all levels of management.
- Self-starter who welcomes responsibility, along with the ability to thrive in an evolving organization and an ability to bring structure to unstructured situations.
- Ability to arbitrate on difficult decisions and drive consensus through a diplomatic approach.
- Matrix management skills and business acumen.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
