Job Description

Coordinates, performs, and leads simultaneous IT, financial, operational, and regulatory audits in accordance with established department and professional audit standards with a primary focus on technology related audits. Participates in all phases of the audit engagement including audit planning, program development, risk assessment, testing and controls evaluation, review of workpapers, report writing and exception follow-up.. Additionally, the Lead Data Analyst supports the Audit Team by driving innovation in automation, AI, and data management. Specializing in data architecture, dashboard reporting, and integrating new systems, this role ensures audit processes are efficient and effective and operated in accordance with our Digital First initiative.

Essential Functions

1. Performs audits in accordance with professional audit standards and with specifications and timeframes listed in the audit plan. Performs general and application control reviews for simple to complex computer information systems. 2. Conducts comprehensive audits, including technology audits, IT general and application controls reviews, financial analysis (ICOFR/SOX), Compliance/AML, and Operational reviews. 3. Automates audit processes to enhance efficiency. Uses audit engagements as opportunities to identify, review, and test key IT and automated business controls to assist management in meeting its objectives. Executes data validation and other data analytical procedures to enhance risk assessment or opine on organizational risk mitigation efforts. 4. Performs information technology audits and control reviews to include reviewing technology stacks, system development standards, operating procedures, system security, programming controls, communication controls, backup and disaster recovery, and system maintenance. 5. Leverages advanced tools and techniques (PowerAutomate, Python, SharePoint, AI/ML) to analyze large datasets, perform complex ETL from diverse sources, and develop/maintain robust data architectures for managing disparate datasets. Designs and integrates systems for seamless data flow and dashboard reporting. 6. Creates dynamic dashboards and reporting tools to provide actionable insights. Leads cross-functional teams to align audit processes with organizational objectives and partners with stakeholders to drive improvements in financial data analysis and reporting. 7. Delivers oral and written presentations to management detailing the results of the audit. 8. Prepares clear and concise audit reports in accordance with CoBank Internal Audit process and procedure. 9. Exercises judgment within boundaries of individual assignments and in applying procedures and guidelines. 10. Maintains professional expertise in the best practices of the audit profession and in the technical areas of responsibility. 11. Coordinates with external auditors, Farm Credit Administration, and other third parties as necessary for information technology related matters. 12. Performs special reviews, projects, and other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field required
  • Master's Degree or MBA preferred

Work Experience

4 years -6 years of experience in data analysis, auditing, or related fields, with demonstrated expertise in data automation, AI, and large dataset management. required Prior Experience in finance, retirement, or banking industries required Prior Experience with cloud-based systems and database management required 1. Proven leadership in managing cross-functional teams and delivering data-driven results.2. Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI (or similar tools), and experience with financial statement analysis and compliance testing frameworks. 3. Demonstrated experience in population testing and various sampling methodologies.4. Advanced knowledge and understanding of auditing principles and of applying “best practices” of the internal audit profession.5. Advanced understanding of the COSO framework, NIST, COBIT, GAAS, GAAP, and regulatory requirements for financial institutions.6. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage workload and projects, prioritize competing commitments, and complete assignments in accordance with established deadlines.7. Excellent technical, analytical, interpersonal, research, and oral/written communication skills.8. Intermediate ability to use standard applications employed by the department (Word, Excel, Audit Management Software). 9. Ability to work as an integral part of a team and the ability to build and maintain client partnerships. 10. Ability to provide feedback, both oral and written, to all levels of management on critical issues.

About CoBank

The typical base pay range for this role is between $98,500 - $121,180. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
