Senior Cloud System Engineer

Requirements

• Developing platform which serves as the OS abstraction to more than 15,000 servers of 200+ platforms.
• Architect, implement, operationalize new OS platforms which streamlines how packages are installed, easy management of their EOL and patching/ upgrades, and develops intuitive reports.
• Implement, operationalize new Cloud server provisioning for helping the rest of the engineering teams to be able to provision newly built OS’ servers.
• Participate in design review meetings for new features
• Mentor other operations engineers
• Perform code reviews and help the team to produce quality code
• Work with the Coupa product development team to review the features in an upcoming release and help architect new features

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• More than 7 years years of professional experience in systems engineering with Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• Extensive knowledge of image management in AWS/Azure Cloud, VM bootstrap processes such as cloud-in it, building images using packer.
• Deep understanding of OS configuration, hardening, and package management of RHEL derivatives
• Experience authoring and debugging Chef Cookbooks on Linux
• Experience with systems programming and automation in languages such as bash, go, python, or ruby.
• Experience with git and CI/CD workflows in Github Actions and/or Jenkins
• 2+ years of production system administration and SRE experience, taking the platforms to production and sustaining it.
• Experience working on teams using agile methodologies, software development lifecycles, & design patterns
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with FIPS, CIS benchmarks, and other compliance standards like PCI, HIPPA, etc
• Experience building container images and deploying services in Kubernetes.
• Experience building RPM packages from source and/or running custom
