About the team
The VP, Fraud & Risk Data Modeling is a critical leadership role within the Risk team, addressing the urgent need for a senior expert with a strong background in fraud risk data modeling.
This role drives portfolio performance improvements through advanced data sciences expertise.
Reporting into the broader Risk organization, this executive will oversee risk management functions for a significant sub-part of the company (e.g., major region, division, or corporate-level responsibility), collaborating with cross-functional teams to mitigate business risks and enhance decision-making through cutting-edge modeling and analytics.
What you’ll own
Define and execute the strategic vision for fraud and risk data modeling, aligning with organizational goals to optimize portfolio performance and mitigate losses.
Lead the assessment, analysis, and mitigation of business risks, including fraud risk management, credit risk automation, portfolio performance oversight, and loss mitigation using advanced statistics and data sciences.
Drive innovation by leveraging advanced analysis and modeling techniques to address emerging fraud and risk trends in the payments ecosystem.
Manage key performance indicators (KPIs) such as portfolio risk levels, loss mitigation effectiveness, and model accuracy, ensuring operational excellence and measurable outcomes.
Partner with technology and data teams to develop and maintain industry-leading risk models and tools, ensuring scalability and compliance with regulatory standards.
Cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to enhance risk management capabilities and vendor collaboration.

What you bring
Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience). Certification or equivalent experience in fraud/risk management is required.
10+ years of leadership experience in fraud risk management, data science, or financial technology, with a focus on advanced analytics and modeling.
Proven success in driving portfolio performance and mitigating risks through data-driven strategies in a B2B or payments environment.
Deep expertise in advanced statistics, data sciences, and risk modeling, with specific merchant industry experience in fraud, credit risk, and vendor relationship management.
Strategic mindset with the ability to prioritize complex actions and integrate cross-functional efforts to achieve company-wide goals.
Exceptional communication, team-building, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly to diverse audiences.
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive issues with discretion and provide candid, consistent leadership in a fast-paced global environment.
