What We Need

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team, helping us build and maintain a data platform that supports diverse uses. This includes data analysis, exploration, aggregation, user modeling, and scalable training systems. As part of the Data Team you will be a key player in our small, nimble, internationally-distributed team and drive significant impact all across the company's data technology and business.

As a Senior Data Engineer you will...

Use Python and Scala to develop tools with Spark, Kafka, Airflow, PostGRES, Druid, Spinnaker, and Kubernetes. We run in GCP, and primarily work with Dataproc, Dataflow, BigQuery and Big Table. You will have the opportunity to join us in exploring new technologies and use them to design, deploy and operate highly performant systems.

In this role you are expected to be comfortable working to high standards as a professional data engineer, dealing with huge amounts of business-critical data (PBs), and to contribute across a full spectrum of responsibilities from architecture to ops.

Impact you will make:

  • Architect real time and batch data processing pipelines to consume from multiple systems
  • Develop tools to monitor, debug, analyze and operate our data infrastructure
  • Design and implement data schemas and models that can scale for hundreds of millions of users
  • Collaborate closely with the product and business teams to build new features and infrastructure
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists to build large scale predictive models
  • Develop reliable data pipelines that convert data into powerful signals and features
  • Evaluate new technologies for adoption, and organize smooth migrations

You'll Have:

  • BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline
  • 4+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, and SQL
  • 4+ years of experience in programming in any of Python / Java / Scala
  • Experience working in cloud environments, ideally with GCP or AWS
  • Strong experience in improving performance of queries, data jobs, and scaling the system for exponential growth
  • Expert debugging skills and emphasis on automated tests to build high quality systems
  • Experience with data pipelines processing larger than 10TB of data

The following experience would be a plus:

  • Experience with Spark
  • Experience with Great Expectations or other Data Quality tool
  • Experience with Databricks
  • Experience with Apache Beam

Our Compensation and Benefits (for California residents only)

{$170,000 - $200,000]

In accordance with California law, the range provided is LoopMe’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location. All employees may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as stock-based compensation, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. LoopMe also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions.
