Reporting to Senior Director, Credit & Collections, the Senior Manager, Credit Risk is responsible to partner with stakeholders to develop, manage and monitor credit risk strategies for various decision areas (i.e. credit line / overdraft, risk based pricing, overlimit authorizations, etc); to support business objectives while minimizing credit losses.

What you'll do:

  • Provide leadership and direction on credit risk strategies involving our PC Mastercard and PC Money Products, which include but not limited to credit limits, APR pricing strategies and Overlimit Authorization strategies. Lead the team to optimize opportunities and refine strategies by using quantitative analysis to monitor their effectiveness. 
  • Recommend changes to risk strategies and partner incentive campaigns based on analytical findings and strong economic analysis. Champion policy or strategy recommendations to Senior Management.
  • Build, guide and retain best in class analytical talent by stimulating engagement and cultivating skills.
  • Ensure compliance and audit requirements/documentations are created, maintained, and oversight abilities are continuously improving.
  • Foster relationships with internal and external partners; collaborate with other business units to ensure that Credit Risk interests are addressed in business initiatives.
  • Be the subject matter expert for systems (e.g. TSYS / TRIAD / Strategy Director) and point person from a Risk perspective on the strategy decision areas.
  • Represent Credit Risk on cross-functional strategic projects to drive change within the organization and champion industry best practices.
  • Prioritize projects and ensure that strategies are implemented on time and on schedule, ensuring proper communication and roll-out to operations.

What you bring:

  • Post-Secondary education or equivalent experience in a quantitative field preferred (Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Operations Research).
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience analyzing credit card data, implementing credit risk strategies and making strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Strong business fundamentals, knowledge of P&L reporting and the credit card life cycle.
  • Experience with adaptive control systems (e.g. ACS, TRIAD, Strategy Manager, Probe, , etc).
  • Knowledge of book of record processing systems (e.g. TSYS / Tenemos).
  • Proficiency with Python / Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or SAS and Microsoft Office suite of products is required; additional experience with Knowledge Studio and VBA, Oracle or SQL-based data manipulation tools would be an asset.
  • Strong leadership, business acumen, and partner management skills.
  • Strong people development and coaching skills to develop the next generation of leaders
  • Ability to distill and communicate complex analytic recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, both orally and in written presentations.
  • Proven analytical and conceptual thinker who can adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Results oriented. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
