Intern – Visual AI

Nokia Technologies is licensing Nokia intellectual property, including patents, technologies, and the Nokia brand, building on Nokia’s continued innovation and decades of R&D leadership in technologies deployed in virtually all connected devices used today. You will be joining Visual AI Systems Research team to build the next generation of AI-enabled multimedia systems and tools. The team performs research on applications of AI in multimedia with the focus on video data and contributes to the standardization activities across different forums. The intern will work on neural compression, contributing to innovative research and development in visual AI systems. This is an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand experience in a dynamic and innovative environment. The ideal candidate should be a student, have a strong background in AI, machine learning, and neural networks, with a keen interest in visual data processing and compression techniques.

• Development of algorithms to improve neural video coding tools.
• AI research for video compression.
• Write technical reports and documentation.

You have:

• Strong enthusiasm for ML and Compression
• familiarity with pytroch or similar ML frameworks
• experience with python and c++,
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field 

It would be nice if you also had:

• Signal processing background!
• familiarity with information theory
