JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer II to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding in data engineering and a passion for solving complex data challenges. This role will involve development and maintenance of custom data pipelines and architectures, as well as data transformations inside of the EDW in Snowflake.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformations.
  • Collaborate with senior engineering team members and other stakeholders to understand data requirements as well as establish data engineering best practices and standards.
  • Assist senior-level engineers in the optimization of existing data systems for performance and scalability.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data platforms.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering.
  • Utilize dbt, Fivetran, Python, and Snowflake to build and manage custom data pipelines.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in data engineering
  • 1+ years experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Snowflake)
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience with Fivetran & dbt
  • Working knowledge of SCRUM and Kanban Agile methodologies

  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of data engineering principles, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership abilities, including mentoring and guiding junior team members.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
