Ventus Solutions is seeking a skilled Technical SETA with a focus on machine learning to support an innovative program. The candidate will work to create new probabilistic logical reasoning methods that high logical expressiveness.  Additionally the candidate will support Bayesian and non-Bayesian principles/semantics for probabilistic, and computationally tractable applying knowledge of machine learning (ML) with probabilistic logical deductive reasoning for decision support and forecasting in defense and civilian domains. Travel: 10-25%

Level of Effort: Part-time

 

Required Experience:

  • Familiarity with first-order logic (FOL), automated logical deduction (a.k.a. theorem-proving), and basic database management like SQL
  • Familiarity with software programming and engineering (including Python and C) with a minimum 2 years of experience participating in projects after bachelors-level education
  • Familiarity with knowledge graphs (KG; including ontologies), including minimum 1 month experience participating in projects after bachelors-level education
  • Familiarity with basic probability (including theory) and statistics
  • Familiarity and/or experience with machine learning (ML), including at least 2 years of experience participating in projects after bachelors-level education
  • Secret Clearance with TS eligibility

 

Desired Experience:

  • Familiarity and experience with AI knowledge representation & reasoning (KRR, beyond just FOL and KG), including logic programs (Prolog and/or its extensions, like SWI, XSB, Rulelog, Answer Set
  • Experience as DARPA tech SETA specifically in supporting PM(s) in developing PIP(s) for at least 6 months
  • Excellent skills and speed at preparing PowerPoint diagrams/graphics
  • Familiarity and/or experience with probabilistic logical reasoning, such as Bayesian networks, probabilistic graphical models, and/or probabilistic logic programs,

Including at least 1 year experience participating in projects after bachelors-level education

  • Prior 2 years of experience with DARPA as tech SETA
  • Familiarity with AI natural language processing with at least 1 year experience participating in projects after bachelors-level education
  • Other AI R&D experience relevant to CODORD
  • Masters or Ph.D. in AI or closely related STEM field (Computer Science, Mathematics)
