About the Role: 

Are you ready to turn data into actionable insights and shape the future of research publishing? 

The Data Analyst role is part of the Analytics Center of Excellence team, within SN Data - Data Competence Center, and you will work with us to deliver actionable analysis and insights to support Springer Nature’s research publishing strategy. You will create and manage analytics products, which enable a wide range of business users to make data driven decisions to improve our products, services and platforms. We’re looking for a blend of skills and attributes that make you a great fit for this role. Role Responsibilities:

  • Work with the team to manage and evolve our portfolio of data and analytics products in order to inform business decisions.

  • Contributing to the full lifecycle of our projects including but not limited to: requirements gathering, analysis, development, testing and release and roll out to stakeholders.

  • Manage complex data pipelines to bring together diverse and large datasets and create quality data products that support business needs.

  • Analyse data to identify and interpret trends or patterns and organize meaningful insight.

  • Develop and create interactive dashboards to support business users to self-serve insights that drive business performance.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and drive continuous improvement of our products and processes.

  • Champion data and analytics, driving adoption of tools and best practices within the data community, and supporting a wider data culture through enabling business teams to be more self-sufficient in meeting their needs.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

 Essential

  • You have a degree level education in a relevant subject or proven credible work experience in data and analytics.

  • Experience using a range of tools and techniques for report building, ad-hoc queries and data analytics (SQL, Google BigQuery, LookerStudio, Tableau, Python etc)

  • Experience successfully delivering data analytics projects, from data preparation and transformation to analysis and presentation.

  • Strong communication at all levels to both understand business problems and explaining insight and recommendations

  • Able to plan activities and identify tasks to deliver against targets and deadlines.

  • You are a keen problem solver, excellent with technology and possess a detail orientated mindset.

Desirable

  • An interest in scientific publishing.

  • Experience working with AI technologies such as machine learning is desirable but not essential.
