Data Analyst

The opportunity

Downer is looking for a Data Analyst to join the team on a 12-month fixed term contract working out of our Milton office in Brisbane. Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Data Analyst is accountable and responsible for the effective management, administration and reporting of data, statistics, trends and analysis related to the Downer preferred application. 

What you’ll do                 

• Collect, process and analyse large datasets to generate meaningful insights for decision-making
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and other reporting tools to suit business needs
• Use data visualisation techniques to present complex data in a clear and actionable format. 
• Identify trends, anomalies and patterns within datasets to support strategic planning. 
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and enhance data-driven decision making.
• Monitor and improve data collection processes to enhance accuracy of data, including training with personnel inputting data. 
• Improve system and tools performance by studying user practices and data workflows

What we’re looking for

• Tertiary qualification in Data or Computer Science, Business Analytics, Statistics or similar
• 2-5 years of Power BI development experience or similar
• 2-5 years of Professional Services or Consulting Services Business facing experience 
• Google or Microsoft data analytics certifications desirable
• Experience with reporting on financials desirable
