Job Description 

Role Summary:

The Data Governance Business Analyst is responsible for preparing requirements, specifications, business processes, and recommendations in compliance with VWGoA standards, policies and methodologies. Gather and synthesize functional and non-functional business requirements ensuring alignment to business strategy. Execute gap analyses between business requirements and best practices. Develop business cases, process and business test strategy, case, and execution. A strong focus on data protection is desired.

Role Responsibilities:

Main responsibility – 80% of time spent

  • Manages compliance requirements for vendors as well as internal data.
  • Leads gathering, refining, documenting, user acceptance testing, and coordination of Data Governance and Privacy (Legal/OGC) requirements
  • Supports the data mapping of data elements to mandated categories per State laws
  • Provide ad-hoc data analysis where needed.
  • Subject matter expert of all data and can handle and speak to it in potential urgent situations
  • Works closely with VWGoA AMS/Service/Product teams to integrate new data/new data usage into VWGoA’s privacy solution.
  •  Manages all requirements in JIRA/Confluence, obtaining signoff from Management in Compliance, Privacy (and where applicable IT).
  • Documenting decisions, processes
  • Monitoring operational activities and identifying risks

Additional responsibilities – 20% of time

  • Responsible for administration of Enterprise Consent Admin Portal.
  • Leads all 40+ communication templates/touch points with consumers related to state privacy rights.
  • Define and document, auditable standards and policies
  • Identify opportunities to guide business partners through Data Governance processes
  • Facilitate and participate in Data Governance working groups
  • Review, Suppress, Redact, and approve consumer Data Subject Requests on behalf of the business
  • Scheduling meetings

Qualifications

Years of Experience:

  •  4-6 years of experience in delivering technology solutions in the areas Data and IT management

Education - Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

Education - Desired:

  • Master degree in Data Management or Science
  • Cloud experience and certifications highly desirable

Skills:

  • Expert in working with multiple IT and business teams to gather requirements.
  • Strong in
    • Visio,
    • JIRA,
    • Project Coordination experience
  • Ongoing operations and process improvement experience preferred.
  • Passion for automotive industry
  • Strong ethical and moral foundation
  • Experience/an understanding of a complex corporate landscape
  • Highly skilled at Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and Power Point
  • Shows past commitment to a role
  • Open-minded and flexible personality
  • Able to show initiative
  • Comfortable interacting with all levels of management across organizations
  • Demonstrates strong informal leadership skills
  • Ability to analyze data and trends to identify potential issues

Specialized Skills - Required:

  • 6+ years of Automotive, CRM or IT Experience, preferably working with large data sets and data quality concepts
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking – using logic and reason, creative and strategic
  • Communication skills – interpersonal, presentation and written
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Solid knowledge of Governance, Risk & Compliance, and Privacy topics
  • Experience managing an ERM program
  • Ability to communicate solutions to peers and high level executives in a consultative manner
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver data technology solutions including hands on delivery when required

Specialized Skills - Desired:

  • Familiar with social media/online environments
  • Familiar with automotive technology
  • Understanding of Dealer and Field hierarchy

Work Flexibility:

  • Occasional travel based upon business needs; approximately 10% (international and domestic).
  • Ability to work off-hours to provide managerial oversight to IT activities that may take place on nights and weekends
