Determining the quality of clusters of product names is a challenging task and an important factor in many fields. For example, in e-commerce, it is crucial to ensure that products are categorized correctly to enhance user experience and improve search accuracy. Similarly, understanding a company's main business based on its product offerings relies heavily on accurate clustering. Poor clustering can lead to misclassification and reduces data quality.

The goal of this master thesis is to explore and analyze various methods for assessing topic coherence in clusters of product names.

This includes:

• Explore current Topic Coherance metricies and their applications
• Create embeddings from product names
• Cluster embeddings and explore clustering methods (using scikit-learn, LLMs, or similar)
• Develop a metrics to evaluate clusters using, but not limited to Large Language Models (LLMs) as a judge, topic cohearance scores, and similar

Requirements

• Student in the field of Informatics, Data-Science, Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
• Intermediate knowledge of Python
• Basic understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Interest in machine learning
• Willingness to publish the results (optional but preferred)
