We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead and optimize data engineering initiatives, ensuring efficient data processing, governance, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ETL/ELT pipelines, cloud-based data platforms, and SQL optimization, with strong leadership skills to drive data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor data engineers, promoting best practices in data architecture and engineering.
  • Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to facilitate seamless data processing and integration.
  • Work extensively with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery for data storage and management.
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, ensuring database performance, data modeling, and schema design.
  • Utilize ETL tools like Talend, Informatica, or similar to streamline data workflows.
  • Leverage Python or Java for data processing, automation, and transformation tasks.
  • Ensure data governance and security compliance, implementing best practices for data integrity and protection.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business, analytics, and engineering) to define data requirements and drive business intelligence initiatives.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (preferably within an Asset Management company).
  • Expertise in ETL/ELT processes and hands-on experience with ETL tools like Talend, Informatica, or similar.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience in database tuning, data modeling, and schema design.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or Java for data engineering and automation.
  • Deep understanding of data governance, compliance standards, and security best practices.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to relocate to Gurgaon if not currently based there.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid Model – 3 days working from the office in Gurgaon.
