The Role

 

Lead a team of data analysts responsible for the product ownership, controls and remediation of GBM’s reusable trade and transaction data, including datasets produced by Trade Central and Market Order Data Repository applications. Partner with technology owners of the applications to maintain and enhance the capabilities of the data products. Maintain compliance with data standards.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Lead a team responsible for GBM’s reusable order, trade and transactions data.
  • Remediate data quality issues for the assigned data domain.
  • Maintain compliance with data standards for the assigned data domain.
  • Lead and/or contribute to data initiatives as assigned.
  • Understands and supports leading practices related to data management. Has experience with capital markets products and business processes.
  • Keep up with industry’s best practices and innovation relevant to the domain.
  • Coaching direct reports (3-4)
  • Contributes to the overall data management practice and capabilities relating to data quality, data provisioning, metadata, lineage, reference data, issue management, and change management.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Deep knowledge of capital markets data.
  • Understanding of key components of modern data platforms including: data controls, data acquisition and ingestion, data processing, data enrichment, data models, data distribution. 
  • Experience with project delivery, business analysis, and user acceptance testing
  • Experience with data and metadata management tools and techniques.
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to tailor communication approach for different audiences in senior leadership, front office, mid/back office, and technology.
  • SQL, HQL, SPARQL, Phyton skills.
  • Minimum qualifications:
  • Graduate Degree in IT or Business-related discipline preferred
  • 5+ years of experience working with capital markets and/or corporate banking data.
  • 5+ years of experience in Financial Services 
  • Knowledge of global financial regulatory environment is preferred
