Job Description Summary:

Our Marketing Data Science transformation is in full swing. We embarked on transforming and building a world-class Marketing DS Org recently. Our team helps to power PayPal’s high-growth Marketing organization by delivering actionable insights and business intelligence for our merchants. With the recent announcement of PayPal Open launching soon in Spring 2025, our team’s work is even more critical in delivering insights to help PayPal grow with merchants worldwide.

Job Description:

About You

In this role, you will lead complex workstream solutions, tackling high-visibility business challenges by setting and executing a vision rooted in deep analytical expertise. Your deep curiosity and persistence in understanding our products and go-to-market strategy will be crucial. You will gain visibility and work closely with PayPal’s B2B marketing and other key teams to create comprehensive marketing solutions. As part of a team of entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, and client-focused members, you will approach problem-solving pragmatically. 

Your deep curiosity and persistence in gaining knowledge about our products and go-to-market strategy will be crucial. You will have exposure and visibility to PayPal’s B2B Sales, Product, Finance, and Market Insights and the respective analytics teams, working with them to create holistic solutions to Marketing problems. We are a team of entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, and client-focused members.

The ideal candidate is a fast learner, eager to grow, with a can-do attitude and pragmatic problem-solving skills. They are curious and inquisitive, passionate about digging into data and uncovering insights. They are hyper-analytical and honest, believing in data-driven decisions and excelling in communicating ideas through storytelling. Familiarity with data science and machine learning techniques to enhance product experiences is essential. The candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter, thriving in a fast-paced environment and capable of delivering successful results with minimal guidance. Additionally, they should be a fun-loving, adventurous team player who enjoys collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing data-driven insights, including but not limited to business casing, deep dives, modeling, campaign performance readouts, and optimization. 
  • In this role, the manager will deliver accurate, action-oriented recommendations to drive business performance and optimize investments. 
  • This is a leadership role with significant individual contributions to strategic projects. You will manage multiple analytical projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, intense, and results-driven environment. 
  • Additionally, you will influence stakeholders to make informed business decisions aligned with global measurement approaches.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, or Economics.
  • Professional Experience: Over 6 years of experience in analytics, data science, management consulting, or equivalent analytical and project management roles.
  • Leadership and Management: Proven track record of managing high-performing data scientists and quantitative analysts.
  • Strategic Influence: Experience driving strategy within large, global, and complex organizations, effectively collaborating across multiple stakeholders and teams.
  • Problem-Solving Excellence: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strong focus on driving action and achieving impact.
  • Project Management: Expertise in managing analytics projects from inception to delivery, including developing structured solutions.
  • Data Visualization: Proficiency in creating visualizations, dashboards, and reports.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with data modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data science techniques
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and BigQuery
  • Communication Skills: Ability to explain technical concepts and analysis implications to diverse audiences and translate business objectives into actionable analyses.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is

$96900 to $234300
