Job Summary

The Director of Data and Analytics is a hands-on role focused on building and executing data strategies that drive business insights and decision-making. This role partners with Sales, Finance, and IT to develop innovative solutions aligned with strategic goals while serving as a trusted advisor for data-driven insights.

With a focus on business intelligence and advanced analytics, the Director translates complex data into actionable insights through dashboards, reporting tools, and predictive models. This role emphasizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and data governance, requiring strong technical expertise and the ability to influence business outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Organizational Partnership and Engagement:

  • Collaborate with business teams and identify opportunities for value-added engagement, suggesting the appropriate analytic solution/approach
  • Establish and maintain key business partnerships, including Sales, Finance and IT, co-developing solutions that deliver against the highest order strategic goals and imperatives
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for fact-based insights and recommendations that enable data-driven decision making

Business Intelligence and Analytics:

  • Identify and translate business needs into appropriate analytic designs including BI, business analysis and advanced analytics
  • Partner with IT, business teams and technical teams (in D&A) to set priorities, develop requirements, scoping (and other) documentation, secure resources and manage end-to-end product delivery with high partner satisfaction and meaningful business value
  • In coordination with technology/other data providers and the data governance team, ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency and timeliness of foundational data used for analytic solutions
  • Lead the development and implementation of business intelligence solutions across the organization, including executive dashboards and self-service reporting environments that are aligned to human-centered design principles
  • Collaborate with technical teams in the development and implementation of quantitative analysis and advanced analytics, including descriptive analytics, machine learning, experimentation, forecasting, cohort analysis and data mining to identify trends and patterns that can be used to improve business outcomes
  • Calculate the incremental financial value-add to analytic work and partner through implementation to ensure value can be measured
  • Ensure the protection of sensitive information while adhering to data privacy and regulatory requirements
  • Develop a continuous improvement mindset within the organization with a focus on collaboration, and accountability

Primary Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Mathematics, Statistics or other quantitative discipline; Master’s degree preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in business analytics, data science or related fields, specifically functioning in a leadership or business advisory/consulting role
  • 3+ years of understanding data warehousing concepts, with hands-on experience with SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI or other relevant tools/technologies
  • 4+ years leading direct or indirect technical teams in the design and development of analytical solutions, products and services
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on translating data into actionable business insights
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to map out end-to-end projects/processes
  • Understanding of P&L drivers, with capabilities in summarizing large amounts of data in ways that influence business decision making
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate to non-technical stakeholders and leadership
  • Comfortable operating in white space and embracing change
  • Ability and interest to work in-office full time
