10AI Specialist Editor
The Team:
You will be part of the Editing & Digital team, working closely with news journalists and market reporters across the globe. Our Editing & Digital team are more than copy editors. They safeguard quality and coach the team in essential journalism and writing skills. They innovate with a variety of media types and formats to deliver insightful content that informs and engages our audience.
As well as editing news and pricing content, you will develop prompts in Spark Assist and other AI tools like Copilot that can be scaled across editorial tasks. You will find smart ways to deploy AI across various editorial functions and act as a coach and facilitator to encourage reporters and editors to make full use of the AI tools available. You will be embedded in editorial teams across news and pricing to guide and assist in the use of AI in a range of tasks from story creation and origination to data extraction and transcription. You will also work closely with our AI technology development team and the Project Achieve team in MRTS to enhance the efficiency and quality of our news content.
Responsibilities and Impact:
Spark Assist Prompts: Utilize and refine writing and editing prompts in Spark Assist, our in-house Gen-AI chat application, to enhance content creation and editorial workflows across teams, ensuring alignment with S&P Global's high editorial standards.
AI Adoption: Act as a facilitator and enabler to drive adoption of AI tools across editing functions, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Daily editing: Our Editing & Digital team are more than copy editors. They safeguard quality and coach the team in essential journalism and writing skills. In this role you will spend a portion of your day editing news and other content, and immerse yourself in our wide range of commodity subject areas.
Content Quality: Design, iterate, and collaborate on prompts to improve workflows across a broad range of editorial products from publications to daily news, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and timeliness in reporting.
Innovation: Search out new ways to use Spark Assist or CoPilot across MRTS, identifying opportunities for leveraging AI to streamline processes and enhance storytelling.
Collaboration: Work closely across teams both within MRTS and other departments of Commodity Insights, building relationships to ensure cohesive integration of AI tools into the editorial workflow.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
Experience: Proven experience in news editing and familiarity with AI tools and technologies, with a track record of implementing innovative solutions in editorial contexts.
Skills: Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of editorial standards and practices, as well as the latest trends in AI and digital media, particularly in the context of financial and market reporting.
Education: Degree level qualification in either journalism or an AI-related subject.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge/proficiency in programming languages and web technologies including Python, HTML, Javascript, JSON.
Familiarity with Github and Azure DevOps.
