At the heart of Moderna's R&D engine, the Portfolio and Program Management (PPM) department is instrumental in guiding our clinical development portfolio from early clinical-stage innovation to regulatory approval. The Portfolio Reporting & Analytics (PR&A) team, within PPM, is tasked with establishing and advancing sophisticated study, program and portfolio-level reporting, analytics and insights infrastructure. This PR&A Co-Op role will involve strategic collaboration within PPM, Clinical Operations, Digital (IT), R&D Finance, and R&D Strategy, among other R&D functions and beyond. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of supporting definition, development and delivery of study, program and portfolio-level reporting and analytics, elevating our ability to make data-driven decisions throughout the lifecycle of our development programs.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Support ongoing business reporting and analytics needs across programs, projects, and clinical studies to enable teams to identify key gaps, risks and challenges across the portfolio
Support high-impact projects with cross-functional teams, which may include roadmap development, project scoping and planning, capability design, analytic development and solution delivery
Apply your strong analytical and data science skills to deliver high-value reporting, analytics, and related capabilities to the organization in a collaborative and cross-functional team. Activities may include: scope analytic requirements, identify required data, develop analytical methodology, test and validate – e.g., validate reporting logic, filters, and metrics to ensure accuracy and reliability in decision-making to ensure fit-for-purpose analytics and insights – and deploy the report, solution and/or analytic capability
Support development, deployment, and evolution of key PR&A capabilities and solutions (e.g. scenario modeling, enrollment forecasting, integrated planning, etc.)
Leverage your versatility and creativity to tackle problems through a variety of approaches (i.e., EQ and IQ)
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Bachelor in life and/or computer science discipline(s) and currently working toward an advanced degree (e.g., MS, MPH, MBA, PhD, PharmD, etc.)
Experience in data and analytics, preferably within biopharma or consulting/advisory services, a strong plus
Familiarity with drug development, preclinical through clinical development is a plus
Experience with data wrangling, data mapping, modeling, data science, and pipeline design
Experience building models and forecasts – Excel-based through to more complex AI/ML techniques
Ability to code (e.g., Python, R, SQL) and work with cloud computing solutions
Preference will be given to candidates who have strong statistical and data analysis skills
Experience using business intelligence and data visualization tools; familiarity with reporting platforms and creating scalable dashboards for decision-making
Experience with visualization tools and applications such as Tableau (Prep), Spotfire, or Shiny
A proactive and collaborative mindset, with the desire to contribute to a transformational and fast-paced organization.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information to a variety of stakeholders
