Position Title: Regional Head of Datacenter Design - Americas

Locations: Dallas, TX or Ashburn, VA

Your role We are looking for an experienced and proactive individual to join our Design, Engineering & Construction team as the Regional Head of Datacenter Design for the Americas. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all design management within your region, ensuring technical excellence, budget adherence, and milestone schedule objectives across multiple projects. Leading a team of design and engineering professionals, you will manage complex design deliverables and contribute strategic insights to executive leadership. Your role will also involve relationship management with both internal and external stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and consultants. What you’ll do 

  • Lead and manage design-related activities for all projects within your region to ensure alignment with project objectives, standards, and schedules.
  • Oversee a team of design professionals, including subregional Design Leads and Master Planning Leads.
  • Provide design input for sales responses, Gating Presentation Calls, and key project milestones.
  • Monitor and ensure the implementation of safety in design processes, aligning with regulations and best practices.
  • Review, approve, and manage project design strategies, deviations, and change control processes.
  • Maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as consultants, vendors, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure high standards of design quality and performance, auditing designs for consistency, compliance, and innovation.
  • Mentor and develop the design management team, facilitating ongoing training and growth.

What you’ll need 

  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in design engineering; datacenter experience preferred.
  • Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in a CSA, MEPH engineering or construction management related degree. 
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of CSA/MEPH design principles and experience with design and commissioning processes.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead teams, manage resources, and collaborate across functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relationship Management: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to navigate complex challenges and propose clear, effective solutions.
  • Project Management: Experience managing large-scale development projects from design through to construction and commissioning.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local and international regulations, safety standards, and change control processes.
