About your future role
As a Senior Data Engineer in our Emerging Products team, you'll be at the forefront of our journey, working on strategic initiatives for the future payment eco systems. We are looking for a senior data engineer to join our team who will enter in a key role from day one. The Emerging Products team is a highly skilled agile team consisting of data scientists, full-stack developers, architects, and product managers, all based in the Copenhagen office in Østerbro. The seniority in this position is a testament to the responsibility you will get and your ability to work independently, break down problems, and identify solutions. 

You will be handed a broad mandate and a set of clear expectations to reach. With your problem-solving skills and your ability to navigate large data sets, you will be enabling and powering the new data platform. We value the right personality and attitude just as much as extensive experience.

Your key responsibilities in this role will be:

• Your role will be crucial in ensuring our merchants and partners receive data solutions that allow them to operate and optimize their businesses.
• Implement optimized data storage solutions for real-time data processing and querying.
• Develop and maintain data processing workflows to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Design, develop, and implement data models.
• Support developers in creating APIs or other delivery methods to provide data to customers and partners.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and processing workflows to ensure data quality and system performance.
• Create frameworks for data validation and exception handling.

Qualifications needed to be successful in this role:

• 5+ years experience in a similar role
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Data Scientist, or in a similar role.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Skilled in Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with data modeling and schema design.
• Proficiency in English
• Comfortable with ambiguity.
• Self-driven and proactive is a must

Additional skills and experience that would make you stand out:

• Knowledge of cloud platforms and their data services.
• Data savvy with great communication skills
• Experience in the payment processing industry or with transaction/financial data.
