Job Summary:The Clinical Effectiveness Research Analyst supports healthcare data analyses that track key operational success measures and identifies opportunities to improve or iterate clinical services, with the goal of enhancing quality, outcomes, and costs. You will ensure data accuracy and quality by performing data validation and building metrics. You will also support quality improvement programs through data manipulation and analysis and presenti clear, relevant findings to clinical partners. Reporting to the Senior Director of Clinical Effectiveness & Research, and working in close partnership with Clinical Affairs, Clinical Quality & Safety, and clinical service line leaders - you will play an important role in advancing our commitment to delivering exceptional care.

Responsibilities:

  • You will develop analytically-ready variables and KPIs by applying SQL-based logic to data from electronic health records (EHR), medical and pharmacy claims, and Included Health product datasets. These measures will serve as the foundation for monitoring and evaluating clinical services.
  • You will build interactive operational reports across all service lines, including virtual care delivery, expert medical opinions, and virtual care navigation.
  • You will analyze information obtained from multiple sources, conduct and document analyses and evaluation of data, and provide meaningful interpretation of data to a variety of audiences.
  • You will support quality improvement initiatives and service effectiveness analyses through data validation, dataset creation, and descriptive analyses.
  • You will inspect data to understand and communicate the strengths and identify any anomalies or limitations that impact the ability to accurately measure the outcomes of a given service.
  • You will partner with internal clinical and product teams to support the design and execution of analytic studies.
  • You will use SQL to manipulate and combine healthcare claims, EHR data, and digital health utilization to construct patient subgroups and outcome measures.
  • You will prepare datasets and documentation based on analysis plans, and interpret results in collaboration with academic partners and the Clinical Effectiveness & Research team.
  • You will monitor data and alert leadership and key stakeholders of trends that indicate issues, risks, or opportunities for the business (including operational efficiencies, strategic changes, etc.)
  • You will manipulate and analyze data in SQL, collaborate with the Clinical Effectiveness and Research teams to scope and define analysis, and partner with other data and analytic teams to validate data interpretation and analytic approaches.
  • You will collaborate with clinician leaders to understand key components of care delivery and desired outcomes to inform the study design and frame the results to the audiences to inform how to improve care delivery.
  • You will support execution of retrospective cohort studies, using comparison groups and statistical analyses, to estimate the impact of clinical services in partnership with clinical service line leaders.
  • You will collaborate with other data and analytic functions across the company to contribute to the core data model, share insights, promote knowledge exchange, and minimize duplication of efforts.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare data analysis, clinical research, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Biostatistics, Health Informatics, Computer Science), Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying, joining, and transforming multiple complex healthcare datasets (e.g., claims, Electronic Health Records (EHRs), digital health product utilization data).
  • Familiarity with Python (or R) for statistical modeling and regression analysis.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) for EHR text analysis.
  • Certification in healthcare data science or informatics (e.g., CHDA, CAHIMS, or related).
  • Experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or Python visualization libraries like Matplotlib/Seaborn).
  • Experience with version control systems like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket for collaborative development and code management.
  • Familiarity with healthcare quality measures and clinical outcomes.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, HEDIS, ICD/CPT coding).
  • Experience in the design and execution of analytic studies working closely with clinical and research team members.
  • Experience translating data findings into relevant insights for non-technical partners.
  • Motivated in contributing to publications or presentations in peer-reviewed journals or conferences
  • Experience working with clinicians, data scientists, software engineers, and other partners.

Physical/Cognitive Requirements:

  • Capability to remain seated in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
  • Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate keyboard, computer and other office-related equipment.
The United States new hire base salary target ranges for this full-time position are:Zone A: $120,050 - $156,070 + equity + benefitsZone B: $132,055 - $171,677 + equity + benefitsZone C: $144,060 - $187,284 + equity + benefitsZone D: $156,065 - $202,891 + equity + benefits
