Job Description

What you get…

Guidewire is offering a 3 months internship in our UX team. You will be involved in fast paced and challenging design projects for insurance software which supports global insurance carriers throughout the world. Your work environment will be creative, dynamic and your design work will have reach and impact on a scale to some of the world’s largest insurers and their users.

This internship is designed for individuals who think beyond the interface, exploring how AI, research, and UX design come together to create seamless cloud interactions. You will work alongside experienced UX designers and researchers  in a real-world business environment—experimenting, testing, and refining AI-powered experiences for the insurance industry.

You will become part of our North America team, where you will practice what it means to be a professional User Experience Designer as you gain experience in Design Systems, Application Design and User Research.

About You:

  • Undergraduate or Master’s Degree in Interaction or other HCI Design-related field.

  • Experience in conceptualizing generative AI experiences such as conversational experiences.

    • Develop, test, and refine AI prompts to optimize interactions between users and AI-driven features.

    • Explore generative AI applications to enhance UX workflows, design automation, and intelligent system responses.

    • Analyze user-AI interactions to improve accuracy, personalization, and efficiency in AI-generated responses.

    • Collaborate with designers and engineers to integrate AI-driven components into product workflows.

    • Stay up-to-date on emerging AI trends in UX, human-AI interaction, and prompt engineering

  • Experience designing applications that balance user needs, commercial interests, and technological constraints.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of design methods, tools and research methods.

  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

  • Have an online portfolio that shows how you have researched and crafted great experiences.

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.

How we work:

  • We build on each other’s ideas. We are committed to creating synergy and allowing for ‘ah-ha’ moments.

  • Open and honest. We’re a healthy workgroup that respectfully debates at times and are committed to figuring it out. #keepItPositiveAndProductive.

  • We like learning and are curious. There’s power in knowing what you don’t know and then filling in the knowledge gaps. Whether that be design or domain-related—The sky’s the limit!

  • Confidence with humility. We value your thoughts and insights and recognize there are a lot of smart people we work with on our teams.

  • Coachable and teachable. A growth mindset is critical to the best performing teams. Our commitment to every designer is to provide learning opportunities that both match and stretch their skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $50,000 - $96,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
