Job Summary
• This role is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for the software data engineering unit including data and analytics platforms and the overall data governance, data management platforms, advanced analytics, and shared services and platforms. The role delivers solutions across the enterprise, partnering very closely with senior executives across IT and the business. The role sets vision, KPIs/Goals, manages the overall budget, provides guidance, and oversees the performance of the data engineering teams.
Responsibilities
• Provides leadership for software data engineering, data management, information governance, enterprise information portals management, and implementation.
• Drives innovation and defines strategies on approach and tools to support dashboarding, improve data quality, and enable predictive analytics.
• Identifies strategies to integrate cross-business unit data for enterprise master data management, traditional reporting, data interfaces, and analytics.
• Harnesses data-driven machine learning and artificial intelligence to provide a capability that can be pervasively applied across the enterprise.
• Creates overall software data engineering roadmap, organizes and implements policies, principles, procedures, structures, roles, and responsibilities.
• Provides overall financial direction in order to manage the development of budgets, controls and measurements to monitor progress.
• Leverages predictive analytics to anticipate and prepare for business outcomes and to optimize business operations.
• Improves efficiencies by delivering ‘insights’ through process improvements, automation, and streamlining of manual business data requirements.
• Drives the design, development, and launch of high-quality data models and pipelines in production.
• Drives change management to ensure business standards are adopted and fosters an inclusive culture by creating conducive environment for people development, collaboration, and learning.
Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Statistics/ Mathematics, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 12+ years of job-related experience or 10-12 years of management experience, preferably in data analytics, data engineering, data modeling, or a related field.
