In collaboration with the Financial Advisor Services Organization (FAS), Vanguard's Chief Data and Analytics Office is embarking on a transformative journey to revolutionize how data and analytics propel Vanguard FAS's vision of being the Advisor to the Advisor. Vanguard's FAS business offers services and investment products, such as exchange-traded funds (ETFs), to advisor clients, including broker-dealers, registered investment advisors (RIAs), and bank wealth managers.

As a Principal Marketing Analytics Strategist, you will spearhead innovative initiatives to develop and refine the next generation of advertising and off-platform measurement solutions. In this pivotal role, you will leverage advanced marketing mix modeling, marketing touch attribution, machine learning, and causal inference technologies to revolutionize our marketing solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-divisional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and marketing strategists, to design and implement cutting-edge analytical frameworks. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying key performance indicators, analyzing consumer behavior, and uncovering actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making. By continuously monitoring and optimizing marketing campaigns, you will ensure that FAS Marketing maximizes the efficiency of their advertisement spend, ultimately enhancing ROI and achieving business objectives. Your efforts will empower the organization to stay ahead of industry trends and maintain a competitive edge in the dynamic marketing landscape.
Analyzes data, assesses trends, and develops actionable insights and recommendations in support of enterprise-wide strategic business initiatives. Develops the analytics community at Vanguard by coaching others internally and participating in external events. Key experience includes digital advertising, identity resolution, MMM and MTA, clean-room analytics, and preferably Adobe Marketing Suite.
Core Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze large datasets from various marketing channels to understand the impact of different marketing activities on sales and other key performance indicators.
- Model Development: Develop and maintain advanced statistical models, such as multivariate regressions, to estimate the effectiveness of marketing tactics and predict future performance.
- Performance Measurement: Evaluate the incremental impact of marketing investments on business outcomes, providing insights into the return on investment (ROI) for different marketing strategies.
- Optimization Recommendations: Provide actionable recommendations to optimize marketing spend and improve campaign effectiveness based on model outputs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, finance, and product teams to align marketing strategies with business objectives and ensure data-driven decision-making.
- Reporting and Visualization: Create detailed reports and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and actionable insights.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously refine models and methodologies to improve accuracy and relevance, staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in marketing analytics.
- Scenario Analysis: Conduct scenario analyses to forecast the potential outcomes of different marketing strategies and budget allocations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, statistics, economics, business, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., master's or PhD) are preferred.
- Proficiency in Python and Tableau.
- Strong understanding of marketing mix modeling techniques, including multivariate regression and time-series analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of marketing analytics, including marketing mix modeling, marketing touch attribution, and causal inference technologies.
- Ability to analyze large datasets from various marketing channels to understand the impact of different marketing activities on sales and other key performance indicators.
- 6+ years of experience in marketing analytics, preferably within a consulting or corporate environment.
- Proven track record in developing and maintaining advanced statistical models to estimate the effectiveness of marketing tactics and predict future performance.
- Ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to create detailed reports and visualizations.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and solve complex marketing problems using data-driven approaches.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering results within tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Continuously refine models and methodologies to improve accuracy and relevance, staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in marketing analytics.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and emerging marketing trends.
