Geotab is seeking a Software Developer Intern (Machine Learning Ops) who will immediately contribute to the organization and to the Data and Analytics team. What you'll do:As a Software Developer Intern (Machine Learning Ops), you will collaborate with a cross-functional team of Software Developers, Data Scientists, and Engineers on Geotab’s Data & Analytics team. You will collaborate on designing and coding scalable, fault-tolerant, highly available machine learning solutions, and partner with data scientists to help bring their machine learning models to production. To excel in this role, you must have excellent attention to detail, strong problem solving and analytical skills, be personable, collaborative, curious, a quick learner, and be passionate about ML engineering.
The opportunity- 12 month work-term beginning May 2025.
- Full-time, paid internship: Monday - Friday, 37.5hrs/week.

- Use Python and SQL to interact with Geotab's big data infrastructure.
- Collaborate with data scientists to operationalize ML models by deploying them to production ensuring they are robust, scalable, and deliver business value.
- Develop MLOps tooling (e.g. ML pipelines and systems) and enforce MLOps best practices.
- Perform security updates to ensure models and implementations are free from critical vulnerabilities.
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
- Use data mining, model building, and other analytical techniques to develop new datasets and data driven solutions.
- Make recommendations for new metrics, techniques, and strategies to improve Geotab's product suite.
- Within the final two years of a Post-Secondary degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or a related field. Master's degree students are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills, as well as a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
- Experience using SQL.
- Experience using Python and object-oriented programming.
- Experience working with machine learning algorithms and big data tools is an asset.
- Familiarity with some of the following is not required but is preferred: docker, airflow, pandas, Google Cloud Platform (compute, storage, dataflow, pub/sub, kafka, composer, kubernetes, vertex ai), Google Workspace (docs, sheets, slides, drive, etc.).
- Previous industry work experience is preferred.
- Ping pong and foosball skills are always a plus.
