What You’ll Be Doing:

We are seeking an exceptionally innovative Data Scientist to join our team and lead the development and scaling of AI-driven solutions. This role is ideal for a proactive individual with expertise in multi-modal AI techniques, a deep understanding of the latest AI tools, and a proven track record of building AI systems that drive tangible business outcomes.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Independently analyze complex business problems including those unrelated to their area of expertise and design AI-driven solutions, selecting tools and strategies that fit the problem
• Design, build, and scale AI systems and pipelines tailored to healthcare administration challenges alongside a Data Engineer and a Senior Data Scientist Lead
• Apply multi-modal AI techniques, including NLP, computer vision, and structured data modeling, to develop innovative solutions
• Rapidly prototype and iterate on AI models while evaluating emerging AI tools and technologies
• Work closely with data engineers, software engineers, product managers, and domain experts to implement scalable AI solutions
• Optimize AI models for performance, scalability, and reliability in a production environment
• Build, modify, and enhance existing pipelines to perform  advanced AI processing of documents
• Support migration of pipeline technologies from one platform to another

Qualifications Required and Preferred:

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in AI model development and deployment.
• Strong expertise in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging Face Transformers.
• Experience in developing multi-modal AI systems integrating text, images, and structured data.
• Knowledge of cloud-based AI/ML infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficiency in data pipeline and workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and ownership mindset with the ability to work independently.
• Passion for AI innovation and a deep curiosity for exploring new AI advancements.

Technical Requirements:

We require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 Mbps and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.

The expected base salary/wage range for this position is $120,000 - 130,000. This position is also eligible for a bonus component that would be dependent on pre-defined performance factors. As part of our total compensation package, Evolent is proud to offer comprehensive benefits (including health insurance benefits) to qualifying employees. All compensation determinations are based on the skills and experience required for the position and commensurate with experience of selected individuals, which may vary above and below the stated amounts.
