Job Details

The Director - GPO Data Analytics & Operations is responsible for defining the GPO business data & analytics strategy. The incumbent identifies and standardizes the use and governance of data and analytics. This includes the governance of data and algorithms used for analysis, analytics applications and automated decision making. Creates value by unlocking GPO Marketing, Digital Telemetry, and insights data in ways which will spur innovation.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Establishing GPO Digital Platform Data Governance: Cascades from data strategy into data governance to promote data access, quality, and analytical capability.

  • Governance can include a knowledge worker training program, a data stewardship model, and data standards.

  • Develops and maintains controls on data quality, interoperability, and sources to effectively manage risk associated with the use of data and analytics.

  • Strives to reduce the cost of managing data and increase the value and timeliness of the data. 

  • Oversee the full analytics lifecycle for GPO platforms, ensuring robust data collection, integration, and visualization to support strategic decision-making.

  • Identifying and Defining GPO Data & Analytics Investments: Works with business and IT leaders to identify areas of technical needs for future data science capabilities.

  • Drives the development and deployment of the data and analytics platform. Identifies and prioritizes business projects and enterprise data initiatives utilizing data science capabilities. 

  • Advising and Reporting: Serves as the Data Analytics technical advisor.

  • Represents the GPO data and analytics team and enterprise data stewards at leadership meetings.

  • Develops and gives presentations on the power and value of data.

  • Leads and/or serves on steering committees and helps leadership use its data effectively at these meetings. 

  • Facilitating Internal and External Collaboration: Collaborates with industry data experts to allow a proactive approach to improving insights derived from various data sources.

  • Applies expert knowledge and mastery of advanced mathematics/statistical/computer science methods, theories, and standards to analyze enterprise results and reports, relevant external publications, and conference papers.

  • Recommends and pursues collaboration and provides appropriate technical guidance to ensure the success of such collaborations.

  • Interacts with business areas and IT on GPO data and analytic solutions. 

  • Identifying Opportunities for New Digital and Analytical Products:

  • Lead strategy development for data and analytic products to ensure the program becomes pervasive throughout the organization and helps enable potential new revenue streams.

  • Be a champion for the information services and related GPO data and analytic capabilities. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

  • The successful candidate will hold a four (4)-year degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience within Pharmacy is preferred.

  • At least eight (8) or more years of progressively responsible relevant experience in data management, including creating partnerships, implementing data governance, and understanding the underlying technologies needed to enable data innovation across a midsized or large organization, as well as previous experience as a people leader. 

  • Experience in BI Dashboarding technologies, query languages, and data ETL platforms are also preferred. 

  • Demonstrated experience with developing data strategy, policies, and procedures, as well as successfully executing programs that meet or exceed expectations in a dynamic environment; experience creating tools and capabilities to assist with data discovery & collaboration, ensure data quality, and to load, clean, enrich, manage, and share data and metadata from a variety of sources. 

  • Familiar with big data technologies.

  • Strong understanding of data architecture and use of tools for data integration. 

  • Experience in digital analytics, financial modeling, and predictive analytic methods.

  • Ability to travel up to 20%

  • Information management and quantitative skills, including working knowledge of IT infrastructure, various technologies/platforms, and enterprise-specific vendor solutions. 

  • Industry-specific knowledge of data security protocols, policies, and regulations. 

  • Exceptional analytical, written, oral, and presentation skills with proven track record of effectively communicating actionable insights. 

  • Exemplary diplomatic skills and ability to help senior business leaders see value, opportunities, and risks beyond their own area of expertise. 

  • Ability to understand problems from a broad perspective and anticipate the impact of administrative issues and solutions. 

  • Strong integrity, and trust. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication, presentation and listening skills. 

  • The ability to deal with ambiguity and drive change within and around the organization. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills. 

  • Strong negotiation and project management skills. 

  • Business acumen in manufacturing and distribution operations.

Salary Range*

$121,000 - 186,230

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
