We’re seeking a talented Manager Data & Insights to join the Data & Insights team within our Risk division.

This position plays a key role in managing credit risk for New Zealand personal and small business lending products, driving the use of advanced analytics to influence risk decision making and strategies.

This position will work closely with senior stakeholders in NZ and GCC, to plan, prioritise and deliver work to support personal risk and business objectives.

What will your day look like?

As a Manager Data & Insights, you are accountable for:

• Working with Product, Marketing, CFW, and Risk senior stakeholders to deliver clear and actionable insights to optimise risk strategies

• Delivering initiatives for Risk and other stakeholders to enhance or remediate data assets, new BI development, and support wider bank projects.

• Lead and deliver analytics initiatives to improve our understanding of NZ Retail credit performance and to recommend and champion strategy enhancements

• Acting as a SME for NZ Retail credit risk data and reporting

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in information management, Data Analytics, or a related field.

• 8+ years’ experience in using data to create and present insights and translate these to actionable business strategies.

• Expertise in various tools or languages for analysis, data manipulation and presentation, especially SAS, SQL, Tableau, GCP, Excel.

• Strong data design skills and understanding of relational and reporting schemas and other database concepts.

• Demonstrated ability to assess information, draw conclusions and make recommendations to senior audiences.

• Building, maintaining and influencing relationships with business stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

• Proficiency in Git for version control and adherence to best practices in code maintenance.

• Understanding of lending products, policies and processes.

• Knowledge and practical experience in using and developing AI models and tools to assist with data analysis and business decisions
