About the Role

This role provides an opportunity to join the Customer Protection team working together with stakeholders across the business to protect our customers against fraud and scams. The successful candidate is expected to use analytical techniques to utilise internal and external data to identify compromises and fraud and scam trends to assist in prevention and detection strategies to mitigate the risk and exposure. The role involves liaising with internal teams to assist in the migration of fraud and scams data to the cloud. The role also involves ensuring timely and accurate reporting of fraud and scam losses and metrics to business stakeholders and providing insights on the same. Knowledge of SQL, including writing code, strong analytical skills and a background in data mining/working with multiple sources of data are key attributes to succeed in this role.

What will your day look like?

As a Scams Reporting & Data Analyst, you are accountable for:

• Minimise ANZ’s exposure to fraud and scams through utilisation of data and indicators to identify trends and make appropriate changes to fraud rules and strategies

• Assisting in the data migration to cloud, including cleansing data, assisting in gathering business requirements and performing system and business verification testing. 

• Writing of code to automate reporting processes and/or source inputs required for ongoing reporting needs of the broader Customer Protection team 

• Working as part of a broader team to simplify, achieve consistency and at times enhance Customer Protection’s reporting through market leading analytical and reporting tools  

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

• Experience with Data mining and Analysis of large datasets & reporting

• Experience with using analytical tools SAS/SQL in prior / current role

• A team player who is proactive and can ask questions to understand the task at hand

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and support quick decision making

• Experience in working in the Fraud / Digital security area. Or demonstrated close coordination with Fraud teams

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with internal & external stakeholders and peers

• Understanding of retail & commercial bank products, payment channels / types & associated risks 

• Experience with using and knowledge in any of the following; SAS, Teradata, Oracle, PowerBI, Tableau and Qliksense
