Role Type – Permanent

We’re seeking a talented Data & Insights Lead to join the Data & Insights team within our Risk division.

 

This position plays a key role in managing credit risk for New Zealand personal and small business lending products, driving the use of advanced analytics to influence risk decision making and strategies.

 

This position will work closely with senior stakeholders in NZ and GCC, to plan, prioritise and deliver work to support personal risk and business objectives.

What will your day look like?

As a Data & Insights Lead, you are accountable for:

  • People and performance management of a team of data & insight managers and analysts.

  • Partnering with senior managers in Personal Risk and its stakeholders to evolve and advance the delivery of risk data and insights

  • Coaching members of the team to adopt best practices for data and strategy analysis and delivery.

  • Managing multiple streams of work related to design and delivery of risk data and insights across NZ Retail product lines. Working with senior ANZ Group leaders and stakeholders to drive alignment of data assets and collaboration between functions

What will you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • 10+ years' experience in using data to create and present insights and translate these to actionable business strategies.

  • 3+ years’ experience in leading and managing data analyst teams.

  • Proven experience in People management, leadership and coaching.

  • Expertise in various applications or coding/scripting languages for analysis, data manipulation and presentation (e.g. SAS, SQL, Python, R, Tableau, GCP, Excel)

  • Demonstrated ability to assess information, draw conclusions and make recommendations to senior audiences

  • Experience with assessing and prioritising work and resources across a function to meet business requirements and timeframes

  • Building, maintaining and influencing relationships with business stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

  • Proficiency in Git for version control and adherence to best practices in code maintenance.

  • Understanding of lending products, policies and processes.

  • Knowledge and practical experience in using and developing AI models and tools to assist with data analysis and business decisions
