Business Intelligence & Reporting Analyst

The opportunity

 

EY’s global enterprise technology group provides various enabling services (ERP, infrastructure, platforms, service desk) to assist over 300K employees in creating and delivering solutions and services to Fortune 500, privately held and government-like entities.

 

The Data Analyst will play a critical role in analyzing and interpreting data within the data lake environment. This position involves working with large sets of structured and unstructured data to provide actionable insights to business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background and experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools. The role will serve as a bridge between the data lake technical team and business stakeholders, utilizing the data lake to inform and fulfill business requirements. This role also involves analyzing data, gathering business requirements, and ensuring that the insights derived from the data lake align with business objectives. Candidate must have a strong analytical mindset and the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and scorecards that track key business metrics.
  • Collaborate with business units to understand their data analysis needs and define key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Extract, clean, and prepare data from the data lake for analysis using SQL and other data manipulation languages.
  • Perform statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling to uncover trends and correlations.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools to visualize data and communicate findings.
  • Interpret data and analyze results to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Work closely with data engineers to ensure data quality and accessibility within the data lake.
  • Support the implementation of data governance and data quality standards.
  • Document analytical methodologies and create standard operating procedures for recurring analyses.
  • Stay current with the latest analytics trends, tools, and techniques.
  • Assist in training and guiding business users on data analytics and visualization best practices.
  • Manage ad-hoc reporting requests and deliver timely responses to business inquiries.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Relevant Experience: 3-4 years of experience in a data analyst role, with a strong background in data analytics and visualization.
  • Data Analysis Tools: Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, R, or Python (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy).
  • Business Intelligence Platforms: Experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • SQL and Database Knowledge: Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases for querying and manipulating data.
  • Statistical Analysis: Understanding of statistical analysis techniques and experience with statistical software.
  • Proven experience in a reporting or data analysis role.
  • Strong knowledge of reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, BI platforms like Tableau or Power BI).
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.

 

What we look for

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Data science or any other relevant certification is preferred
  • PowerBI or any other reporting platform experience is a must
  • Knowledge on Power Automate, Qlik View , or any other reporting platform is an added advantage
  • ITIL Foundation certification is preferred
