The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and inquisitive Data Analyst to join our Advanced Analytics & Decision Science team. This team combines data, advanced analytics, and deep curiosity to uncover insights that address previously unanswered questions—driving strategic decision-making and commercial performance.

In this role, you will support multiple business lines, applying analytical frameworks to answer key questions that shape company decisions. Your work will generate insights that help us better understand leaders, organizations, and the unique dynamics that drive success in an ever-evolving world.

Success in this role requires intellectual curiosity, the ability to develop meaningful insights, and the skill to craft compelling data-driven narratives that influence decisions at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with business leaders to identify and narrow a list of key questions and challenges that analytics can help solve, driving meaningful commercial outcomes.
  • Partner across Heidrick Labs to best assemble the needed combination of embedded authorities who serve as strategic advisors to key partners and technical specialists who are proficient in advanced analytics techniques and tools to augment your effort.
  • Design, execute and deliver rigorous analytics and/or experimentation strategies (A/B testing, causal inference, etc.) to evaluate business decisions and drive continuous improvement.
  • Leverage SQL, Python/R, and other analytical tools to extract, analyze, and visualize data effectively.
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights through compelling storytelling and visualization techniques.
  • Deliver measurement recommendations and technical specifications to help evolve a strong understanding of leaders, roles, industries and companies/
  • Act as a strategic partner to stakeholders, providing thought leadership on the application of analytics in decision-making.
  • Participate in a culture of curiosity, innovation, and analytical excellence within the team and across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience delivering analytics, insights, data science, or decision science to drive decisioning.
  • Degree in statistics, analytics, data science, economics, policy or similar field leveraging analytics for decision making, or equivalent practical work experience.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop insights to create a narrative.
  • Ability to effectively communicate data insights and analyses to business stakeholders.
  • Expertise in SQL and at least one statistical programming language (R or Python).
  • End-to-End Analytics Lifecycle Experience from data acquisition and transformation to insight generation and executive presentation.
  • Comfort presenting to senior leadership and influencing high-stakes decisions with data-driven insights.
  • A curious mindset with a strong ability to break down ambiguous business problems and apply analytical solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple teams, aligning analytics initiatives with broader business objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in People Analytics leveraging analytical frameworks and building key metrics to understand impact potential now and into the future.
  • Masters in data analytics, statistics, economics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or related fields or 5+ years delivering people analytics in a top-tier consulting firm.

Pay Range Guidelines for this Position:

The salary range for this position is 75000 USD to 90000 USD. Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience and skills. In addition to your salary, Heidrick & Struggles offers discretionary bonuses (subject to eligibility requirements) and a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, disability leave, parental leave, paid time off and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Note: we have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
