As a Health Information Data Analyst Intern. Your responsibilities will include collecting data, developing reports, performing quality testing, and helping write and evaluate test cases to ensure accurate and timely data delivery for multiple reporting processes.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute to additional data reporting analysis as needed, which may involve supporting Group Reporting processes, Enrollment/Membership reporting, Provider cost and quality measurement, and Population Health Management reporting.

This internship will give you hands-on experience in data analysis and reporting while working in a collaborative environment to support important healthcare data processes.

Compensation

$26.50 hourly

What you’ll do

  • Assist in collecting, cleaning, and processing large datasets.

  • Support the development and deployment of data models and algorithms.

  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.

  • Create data visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.

  • Work with team members to perform statistical analysis and predictive modeling.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide analytical solutions.

  • Must follow URAC standards as required for essential job functions.

  • Perform backup departmental tasks and assist in special projects as needed.

  • Must comply with corporate compliance program.

  • Must comply with and implement corporate information security standards, policies, and guidelines relative to access control.

  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function as defined by policy.

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

What you need

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Strong working knowledge of PC and tools, such as WORD, EXCEL, ACCESS, Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python or R programming languages is preferred.

  • Must have strong basic math skills and perform detailed research and data analysis.

  • Must have good communication skills with the ability to interact positively with all levels of clients and staff, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to also work as a member of a team and to assist in meeting and maintaining departmental goals and objectives.

  • A record of low absenteeism is required.
     

Education

  • Currently enrolled student at a four-year university in an undergraduate or graduate program. If in an undergraduate program, the student will be a junior or senior.

  • The individual's area of study must be related to Health Informatics, Math or Statistics, Finance, Business/Public/Healthcare Administration, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires the use of a PC up to 80-90% of the day, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds
