The Role

We are looking for a highly motivated intern to join our Data Science team in Utrecht! This internship focuses on the analysis of single-cell RNA sequencing data using advanced AI tools to uncover intricate patterns within complex data, providing deeper insights into immune cell behavior and tumor dynamics across different cancers. These insights are crucial in guiding the discovery and development of novel antibody-based therapeutics in oncology. You will work closely with our Discovery Data Science, Product Discovery, and Target Discovery teams, gaining exposure to the dynamic environment of a world-class biotech company. There is flexibility in this project for you to shape your contributions based on your expertise and interests.
Responsibilities
Analyze single-cell sequencing data using AI-based tools.
Translate results into actionable insights for antibody product and target discovery.
Communicate findings effectively through reports and presentations.
Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and contribute to strategic project planning.
Requirements
Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program at a Dutch university in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Sciences, or a related field.
Available for a minimum of 6 months (up to 12 months).
Experience with programming in R or Python.
Foundational knowledge of cancer biology and/or immunology.
Prior experience with single-cell data analysis and AI applications in drug discovery is preferred.
Enjoy working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Experience with single-cell RNA sequencing datasets.
Familiarity with data visualization and bioinformatics tools in R (e.g., Seurat, ggplot2).
Understanding of the tumor microenvironment and immune cell biology.
General Intern Information
- Internship duration: 6-12 months.
- Start date: September 1st.
- Location: Utrecht, Netherlands
- Hybrid schedule: at least 3 days in the office, 2 days remote per week.
