Job Description
Pay Rate: $71000 to $95000 per year.

Position Purpose:
The Data Analyst will be an integral member of the Operational Performance and Technology team. This role involves applying data mining, statistical, and modeling techniques to various data types daily. The Data Analyst will collaborate closely with multiple Operational Areas, including Production, Engineering, Water Quality, and Finance. The primary responsibility is to gather, interpret, and report data findings comprehensively to relevant business colleagues.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within a team-oriented environment to support peers in achieving shared objectives, adapt to shifting priorities effectively, and maintain professional relationships with all internal and external staff.
- Conduct exploratory analysis of large datasets using statistical methods to analyze trends, identify issues, and investigate potential areas for improvement.
- Support the monitoring, analysis, evaluation, and improvement of PFAS treatment systems to ensure compliance with technical and financial efficiencies.
- Maintain the functionality of the Water Quality (WQ) database management system, ensuring accurate and timely data collection, and address internal users’ requests with the support of the database vendor.
- Track and monitor media changeouts for all PFAS treatment systems, analyzing data to identify areas for efficiency improvement.
- Coordinate with individual Business Units (BUs) on sampling schedules, track sample analysis and results, collect and summarize system operation data from the SCADA system, conduct performance modeling, and prepare management reports highlighting trends, patterns, and predictions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
- Based in Paramus, NJ and will primarily work in an office environment, but must be able to travel occasionally within the service territory of the Veolia Regulated Utilities (DE, ID, NJ, NY, PA, and RI) as necessary.
- Must be able to travel and work away from the base, as and when required. (10%)
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree is a plus. A major in STEM is required.
- 0-2 years of overall experience in data management/analytics or other technology-related positions.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work independently as well as part of teams of various sizes and compositions.
- Knowledge of Water Quality compliance rules and regulations, water chemistry, and drinking water treatment processes a plus.
- Proficient in statistical data analysis and capable of performing critical reviews of mined data.
- Strong data analytical skills using Google Sheets, Excel, and statistical packages.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and responsibility, with a willingness to take ownership of assigned projects and tasks.
- Effective communication skills to present data visually, verbally, or in writing to any audience.
- Strong conceptual and quantitative problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively.
- Ability to capture, clean, compare, and analyze data from multiple sources, formulate conclusions, and recommend actionable tasks based on those conclusions.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license for treatment plant visits.
