Job Description:
The HCM and HR Data Analyst role will lead the administration of the Human Capital Management Workday system and Data Analytics for the People and Culture team. This position will focus on compiling data, analysis, and interpreting data to identify trends. This position will leverage various data sources to tell the story and deliver results. This person will help find opportunities for using metrics and analytics to improve HR performance and drive business performance. As an individual contributor this role will collaborate with all functions of HR to interpret and take action on insights through People Analytics solutions.This position will also lead the Human Capital Management (HCM) module within Workday. This individual will be responsible for maintaining data integrity and stability within our core HCM function. The person who will be successful in this role has excellent analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a passion to take initiative along with exceptional professional communication skills. Additionally, you thrive in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking and collaboration is essential.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
Data Analytics
- Extract, prepare and compile data and complete analyses review and interpret data and results to determine goals progress, to identify deficiencies problems, and trends.
- Develop and maintain HR reports and dashboards, presenting data and findings to key stakeholders in a concise manner using data visualization tools.
- Lead specific HR and workforce reporting and analytics projects, managing stakeholder expectations and deliverables.
- Ensure data integrity with the Workday HRIS
- Build and maintain relationships with HR and business users to assist them with using and understanding HR data and metrics.
- Prioritize and scope analytics projects/products efforts based on the value to the business.
- Enhance current reporting deliverables while exploring new and innovative ways to report and examine HR data.
- Lead the design and implementation of data models to support HR decision-making.
- Work with HR and business leaders to identify opportunities for using data and analytics to drive HR initiatives.
- Provide thought-leadership on report results, trends, and recommendations.
- Help shape the advanced analytics strategy for HR and stay current on industry trends/best practices in people analytics and HR data science.
- Contributing to and supporting broad Human Resources programs with many cross-functional stakeholders.
HCM
- Ensure job descriptions and job profiles are accurate and complete when roles and/or structures change and organize annual review of Job Descriptions.
- Manage the contingent worker process in Workday
- Documents processes and creates job aids and training documents as needed and process improvement initiatives to streamline work.
- Provides guidance and recommendations to HR team around how HCM interacts and communicates with other modules and systems.
- Ability to perform self-audits ensuring data integrity and utmost accuracy.
- Test and troubleshoot existing and proposed systems functions in order to resolve and anticipate application issues, but also to verify accuracy and compliance with procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in Compensation with some Workday Human Capital Management experience
- 3+ years of experience in data analytics or business intelligence – Experience with Workday people analytics preferred.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with the ability to contextualize and leverage data and metrics to inform change to advise stakeholders and improve performance.
- Proficiency in HR systems and tools, with experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualization (e.g., HRIS (Workday preferred), Excel, Power BI or Tableau).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, nested formulas, matrix statements, other complicated formulas). Macro writing preferred but not required.
- Proven record of accomplishment prioritizing and handling multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong attention to detail—critical eye for data accuracy.
- Able to effectively communicate and interact with personnel at various levels of expertise.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proven history with displaying statistical analysis (e.g. regression analysis, standard distributions) in an easy-to understand manner.
- Functional understanding of the mechanics of big data and machine learning as a foundation for AI preferred but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data and findings in a clear and concise manner.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Discretion, integrity, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Moderate or advanced keyboard usage
- Limited travel may be required
Base Pay Range: Annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be $80,000 - $95,000, however, the actual pay range depends on each candidate’s experience, location, and qualifications.
