Document Processing & OCR Specialist - C11 (5 to 9 yrs) - Chennai

The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities with highly skilled Kofax Total Agility (KTA) Specialist with over 8 years of experience in OCR, NER, classification, data extraction, and working with different OCR engines. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, developing, and optimizing business processes for document capture, classification, and data extraction.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop KTA business processes for scanning, importing, separating, classifying, extracting, validating, and exporting data and documents.
• Implement and manage custom business rules and import/export connectors.
• Integrate custom C# code and APIs with KTA processes.
• Develop and train classification and extraction models.
• Work with various OCR engines (e.g., Tesseract, ABBYY, Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services, Google Cloud Vision) to improve text extraction accuracy.
• Perform coding and ensure optimal software/module development.
• Implement NER techniques to enhance data extraction and classification processes.
• Automate processes for software validation by setting up and designing test cases/scenarios.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of deployed models.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy OCR solutions into existing systems.
• Provide status reports and customer focus on an ongoing basis.
• Natural language processing, Content extraction, NLP, AI/ML techniques
• Strong problem solving, analysis, and design skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Experience in troubleshooting production problems and working with a team to resolve issues.
• Experience with test-driven, agile development and a continuous integration build environment.
• Knowledge of Azure/AWS computing, storage, logging and monitoring, auditing, and security services
• Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
• Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems
• Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
• Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging
• Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions
• Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
• Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 5 - 9 years of experience in Kofax Total Agility, OCR, NER, classification, and data extraction.
• Strong understanding of image processing and computer vision techniques.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
• Experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Microsoft Certification, any cloud certification will be preferred.
• Good to have: AI/ML certification
