Heathrow is the UK’s biggest airport, located 14 miles west of Central London and serving hundreds of destinations across the world.The Retail Business Systems Specialist develops, maintains, and supports retail systems to meet business objectives. Acting as a liaison between the Retail team and Heathrow IT, the specialist offers advice on systems, processes, and data integrity.
Their main focus is enhancing Commercial systems' structure and functionality to boost efficiency, aid financial operations, and guarantee reliable data for business decisions. They ensure the Retail team has consistent data for analysis at daily, weekly, and monthly intervals, driving revenue and improving customer experience.
- Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of Retail data by overseeing data collection, validation, and reporting processes/tools and serving as business owner for Retail Manager System (a salesforce system).
- Collaborating with Retail Category teams, Finance, IT and Business Support Teams to identify, analyse, and resolve data issues efficiently, minimising disruption to month-end financial activities.
- Providing expertise on Retail business systems, guiding system enhancements and integrations to improve operational efficiency and drive continuous improvements in Retail data quality, ensuring reporting outputs meet high standards.
- Stakeholder Management - Proactively liaising and interfacing with various internal and external stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies e.g. Retail Account Managers, Retail Brand Partners, BST (Business Services Team), IT, Finance, Commercial Data & Analytics teams.
- Providing support to the team with business-as-usual activities and/or delivery of other commercial systems related activities, ensuring that process documentation / training guides are consistently maintained and updated to reflect any changes.
- Strong knowledge of financial and contractual business systems, data management, and reporting processes in a Retail environment (or similar).
- Experience in process engineering and system development within a commercial environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis, ensuring accuracy and integrity in reporting with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to resolve data and system-related issues.
- Experience of maintaining data integrity to drive efficiencies that support strategic decision-making and business growth.
- Demonstrated competency in Microsoft suite or similar. Particularly Excel (use of pivot tables, v-look-up and managing large data sets) and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated competency in using MS Power BI (or similar) – interpretation and construction of reports and dashboards.
Ideally you will have: -
- Experience of using Salesforce would be preferable.
- Experience in financial processes related to an operational business is advantageous.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
