The role

As the first Data Scientist at Actively AI, you’ll own the definition and delivery of analytics that power our success. This includes designing and implementing internal metrics to optimize our GenAI-enabled intelligence pipelines, as well as building client-facing dashboards that provide value to hands-on users managing daily workflows, and to executive stakeholders evaluating ROI.

Your work will directly influence Actively AI’s ability to scale, helping customers see the impact of our technology while improving our internal processes. Who You Are

The following are some attempts to define what the ideal candidate could look like for this role, but this would be our first Data Scientist hire, and we’d love to hear from you if you think you could be a great fit regardless of how many of the items below you meet!

• Analytical powerhouse. You have strong SQL and Python analytics skills, enabling you to wrangle, analyze, and visualize complex datasets. You’re equally adept at diagnosing performance bottlenecks and uncovering key insights.
• Metrics and storytelling specialist. You’re passionate about using data to tell compelling stories. Whether it’s pipeline metrics for our team or client-facing dashboards, you can craft narratives that drive understanding and action.
• Skilled dashboard creator. You’ve built interactive, intuitive dashboards using tools like Tableau, Looker, or Retool, or even directly using Python or R libraries. You think deeply about user experience and can tailor insights for both day-to-day operators and C-suite executives.
• High ownership and scrappiness. You’re autonomous and thrive in environments where you can take the reins. You love to iterate quickly and deliver pragmatic solutions that solve real problems.
• Business-savvy analyst. You excel at quickly developing a deep understanding of new businesses or domains, using that knowledge to inform and guide your analyses. Your insights are always grounded in the context of the organization’s goals and challenges.
• Fast learner with a growth mindset. You’re excited about working with cutting-edge technology and are eager to deepen your expertise in analytics, AI, and LLMs. You thrive in environments where you can continuously learn and adapt.
• Excited to build something from scratch. You’re energized by the opportunity to shape the analytics and data strategy of a growing company. You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves and figure things out as you go.
• Ideally: You have at least 2-4 years of experience in analytics, data science, or a similar role.
• Ideally: You’ve worked with internal and external stakeholders to deliver impactful data products.
• Ideally: You have experience at a fast-growing startup or tech company.
• Ideally: You have built metrics or analyses of LLM outputs, or even built your own LLM-based analysis pipelines.

What You’ll Do

• Own metrics and analyses. Define, measure, and track internal pipeline metrics to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
• Create impactful dashboards. Design client-facing dashboards that provide actionable insights for both hands-on users and executive stakeholders.
• Collaborate cross-functionally. Work closely with engineering, product, and customer success teams to ensure analytics align with Actively AI’s business goals.
• Solve real-world problems. Use data to uncover trends, identify opportunities, and deliver actionable recommendations that drive results.

The base salary range for this full-time position based in New York is: $120,000 - $160,000. This position is eligible for incentive stock options, subject to the terms of Actively AI's applicable plans. Actively AI offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: health, dental and vision insurance, retirement benefits, and unlimited PTO.
