Salary: $75k - $110k
Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI
Education: Bachelor’s degree Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related technical field.

OVERVIEW
Caribou Thunder is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Systems Analyst to join our team supporting critical Air Force and Space Force programs. The ideal candidate will bring deep operations research and analytical expertise into a dynamic environment where innovation and precision are key. This is a unique opportunity to influence senior-level decision-making and contribute directly to the success of vital national defense missions.
REQUIREMENTS
You will provide operations research analysis expertise for various Air Force and Space Force programs. The analyst will work as part of a contractor team working alongside a broader team of government and contract staff. In-depth experience with the Space Force missions and operations is highly desired. Experience with military operational assessments is also highly desired.
1. The ability to coordinate with senior managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and clarify management objectives.
2. Provide expert-level operations research analysis across various Air Force and Space Force programs.
3. Coordinate with managers to identify, analyze, and resolve complex challenges.
4. Develop and execute analytical and assessment plans to address unstructured and multifaceted problems.
5. Lead cross-functional analysis efforts and deliver decision-quality recommendations to senior leaders.
6. Support program analysis through TSE and MATE methodologies, including data collection, curation, and reporting.
7. Facilitate and coordinate data-gathering events (meetings, conferences, technical exchanges), ensuring efficient logistics and secure environments.
8. Extract and analyze data from multiple sources (documents, databases, SMEs), ensuring accuracy and relevance.
9. Translate findings into actionable insights, trend analysis, and visualizations to support strategic decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
2. Demonstrated ability to lead projects and collaborate across interdisciplinary teams.
3. Experience working with complex, unstructured problems and developing effective analytical solutions.
4. Familiarity with U.S. Space Force missions, organizations, and operational constructs.
5. Ability to work in secure environments such as SCIFs.
6. Excellent communication and executive briefing skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
7. Master’s degree in STEM.
8. Direct experience with DoD space programs, Space Deltas, and joint force operations.
9. Proficiency in analytic tools such as Python, R, JMP, or similar.
10. Familiarity with at least one of the Space Deltas and their respective mission areas.
11. Executive briefing skills.
12. Experience in software development, web applications, or analytic dashboard design.
13. Familiarity with collaborative tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Systems Modeling Language.
14. Strong understanding of program cost, schedule, performance metrics, and risk analysis.
15. solutions.
16. Experience building analytic dashboards with visualizations of the underlying data.
17. Experience with analysis or assessments.
