Our growing fintech payments company is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing large data sets, building data pipelines and data marts within Cloud Native environments/databases to uncover insights and drive business decisions. 

Moreover, he/she will be involved in functional analysis, performance tuning, ETL and Data Engineering release management as well as the overall architecture and design of the whole solution. 

 

What will you do: 

  • Design, implement and maintain modern data pipelines, data models and ETL processes within AWS and Snowflake 
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data models and analysis 
  • Continuously monitor, optimize and scale Data Warehouse/ Data Lake processes and applications 
  • Define and implement data quality assurance methods 
  • Participate in the team data strategy, its implementation and data management approach 
  • Migration of legacy, on-premises solutions to Cloud-native stack 


To be successful you need to have: 

  • 3+ years’ experience in a Data Engineer role in the areas of complex Data Warehouse and Customer Data Platforms 
  • Strong SQL scripting: must be able to write complex SQL queries as part of the data analysis and do SQL performance tuning 
  • Snowflake knowledge: SnowPipe, SnowSQL, Copy command and concepts like scalable virtual warehouse, zero copy clone, time travel, Data Sharing, Data Replication and Failover 
  • Data Warehouse Schemas and Modelling 
  • Hands-on experience with building ETL (Extract Transform Load) and/or ELT (Extract Load Transform) process with any of the tools like AWS Glue ETL/SQL Server Integration Services/Azure Data Factory/Informatica as well as defining initial and incremental load processes 
  • Experience in handling structured, semi-structured (JSON, XML, CSV) and unstructured data, columnar format like PARQUET and open-table formats (Delta, Iceberg) 
  • Practical knowledge about one of the main cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) 
  • Experience with CICD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery) and Version Control (Git) 
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, international environment using agile methodologies with strong initiative and dedication to quality; self-motivation and self-reliance.
  • Excellent communication, in English, and stakeholder management skills 

 

Considered as a plus: 

  • Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL 
  • Hands-on with Oracle Data Integrator 
  • Python coding experience 
  • Medallion Architecture 
  • Databricks/Spark transformation knowledge 
  • Relevant experience in Payment industry
