The Lead Frontend Software Engineer at Relativity plays a crucial role in the product development team, driving the direction of frontend architecture, mentoring developers, and ensuring the overall quality and performance of the user interface.

Job Description and Requirements

Role Responsibilities: 

  • Work with management to set and communicate team goals and vision aligned to business requirements. 

  • Ensure the team stays focused and delivers against the goals, adapting to changing business requirements. 

  • Provide input into system software architecture development and future initiatives by working with Staff, Principal Engineers, and Architects as required. 

  • Drive technical direction, planning, and effective frontend solutions in enterprise class system.  

  • Specify non-functional software requirements and analyze all requirements to determine design feasibility within time and cost constraints to deliver quality software. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically about complex issues. 

  • Lead and empower team to apply key design patterns, coding best practices, and methodologies.  

  • Lead the test of software with traceability back to requirements emphasizing the practice of Test-Driven Design and the use of autonomous frameworks and Continuous Integration 

  • Exemplify Core Values and be a role model.  Motivate team through changes and failures. 

  • Collaborate with management to mentor team members and guide development growth 

  • Drive a culture of one global department, one mission. 

 

Required Technical Skills and Experience 

  • Deep understanding of semantic HTML and modern CSS, including pre-processors like SASS or LESS. 

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including ES6+ features and familiarity with TypeScript for large projects. 

  • Extensive experience with modern JavaScript frameworks/libraries like React, Angular, Vue.js, Webpack 5. In-depth knowledge of state management libraries (like Redux, MobX, Vuex) is also important. 

  • Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL and knowledge of asynchronous programming, including Promises and async/await. Working mocks, mock API (for local developments or faster testing). 

  • Experience in creating microfrontends or modular, dynamic UI architectures. 

  • Experience with design systems like MaterialUI, Bootstrap or similar. 

  • Experience in creating responsive designs that work across a wide range of devices and screen sizes. 

  • Experience in frontend unit testing with frameworks like Jest, Karma and end-to-end testing with Cypress or Playwright. 

  • Understanding of browser differences and experience with tools for cross-browser testing. 

  • Techniques for optimizing frontend performance, including lazy loading, code splitting, content delivery networks, and image optimization. 

  • Strong understanding of web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and best practices. 

 

Required Experience 

  • 5 - 7+ years of experience in frontend development, with at least 2-3 years in a lead role. 

  • 3 - 5+ years of experience in software development using C# and .Net, or related object-oriented programming languages. 

  • Experience developing scalable solutions in Azure or other cloud platforms and building observable systems with SLA and SLOs defined. 

  • Experience working on large-scale web applications or enterprise platforms. 

  • Experience in leading projects from conception through to delivery. 

  • A strong portfolio showcasing a range of projects, particularly those where the candidate played a lead role in the frontend development. 

 

Desirable Additional Skills and Experience 

  • Understanding of backend technologies (.Net, Node.js, Python, etc.) to facilitate better collaboration with backend teams. 

  • Experience or strong understanding of UI/UX principles can be an additional advantage. 

  • Familiarity with AI-driven solutions in UI/UX, such as AI-assisted user interactions, personalization, generative design tools, or adaptive interfaces. 

  • AI Integration in frontend, including hands-on experience integrating chatbots, recommendation systems, or computer vision models into UI/UX workflows.

Relativity is committed to competitive, fair, and equitable compensation practices.

This position is eligible for total compensation which includes a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus, and long-term incentives.

The expected salary range for this role is between following values:

232 000 and 348 000PLN

The final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top end of the range would not be typical, to allow for future meaningful salary growth in this position.
