SENIOR MASTER DATA ANALYST – EMEA / APAC
Job Description
Primary Job Function
The primary job function of a Senior MDM (Master Data Management) Analyst is to manage and maintain the organization's master data (Vendor & Customer) ensuring data quality and integrity. Often requires streamlining the communication across multiple business functions on MDM process and SAP master data-related support. This position requires strong data analytical skills and knowledge of data governance and compliance, and its impact on financial controls and downstream OTC and PTP operations.
The market served for this position will be in the Asia Pacific, Europe, and Middle East region.
Core Job Responsibilities
Data Management:
Maintain and manage master data across various domains (Customer & Vendor)
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Conduct data profiling, cleansing, and standardization.
Data Governance:
Support the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
Promote best practices for data management.
Data Quality Assurance:
Implement and monitor data quality controls and processes.
Identify and resolve data quality issues.
Perform data audits and analysis to benchmark data quality.
Data Analysis and Identification:
Analyze master data and data sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
Identify data quality issues and inconsistencies.
Document data terms, definitions, standards, and MDM processes.
System Support:
Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of MDM systems and processes.
Participate in system testing and performance tuning.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data requirements.
Communicate data quality issues and recommendations to stakeholders.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure that the organization's data needs are met.
EMEA Focus:
Possess a good understanding of the EMEA market and its specific data management requirements.
Support EMEA-specific MDM initiatives and projects.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement and data management optimization.
Troubleshoot master data management issues.
Work within the MDM organization to develop and implement data quality metrics.
Position Accountability / Scope
Responsible for compliance with applicable Departmental, Corporate, and Divisional Policies and Procedures.
Must adhere to divisional business rules and processes outlined in Master Data SOP's and SLA's.
Understand the implications of master data as it relates to SAP and other business systems based on requirements.
Failure to achieve results may result in business process delays and/or a duplicate effort caused by these errors with significant financial/business impacts.
Effectively utilize the centralized MDM systems to maintain the integrity of master data. This includes all aspects of the Create/Read/Update/Delete process. Systems include SAP ECC, SAP S/4 HANA, SAP MDG, and various ancillary systems.
Independently develops general approaches to the solution of problems that require the application of basic project management principles and data-driven problem-solving skills. Work is reviewed to determine if overall results and objectives have been achieved.
Minimum Education
B.A./B.S. degree in Business, Accounting, Information Technology, or Finance preferred.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
Several years of experience in data management, preferably in a Master Data Management (MDM) role.
Experience working with MDM tools and technologies (e.g., SAP MDM, SAP MDG. SAP BODS).
Experience in data profiling, cleansing, and standardization.
Technical Skills:
SAP experience along with intermediate SQL, MS Access, and Excel skills are strongly preferred.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices.
Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
Business Analyst along with Data Analytics experience is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Highly proficient in both spoken and written English.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
