Job Description
Becoming part of the UK team in our Data & AI Service Line will present new opportunities for you to make a positive impact as we embark on securing major projects with our top international clients.
This will mean working with our FTSE100 clients and beyond on a wide range of advisory projects, bringing deep business and technology expertise to help address Data and AI opportunities and challenges across their organisations.
Wavestone has a significant and growing capability in Data & AI that is in high demand from our clients. Our clients trust us to tailor advisory engagements to aid with some of their most complex data-related challenges, and as a result, we are growing our Data & AI service line to be able to respond to the increasing breadth and complexity of data-driven transformation initiatives
Whilst we work across different sectors, we are particularly interested in speaking to people with a background in one or more of the following sectors: Banking, Insurance, Wealth & Asset Management, Life Sciences, Public Sector, Energy & Utilities.
We are looking for talented and experienced Data & AI management consultants across various levels of seniority that are confident and capable of being a key trusted advisor to clients from the outset.
Join our team to help grow this offering and be part of impactful engagements encompassing (but not limited to):
D&AI Strategy & Operating Model Design: Analysing client needs and developing comprehensive data strategies aligned with business objectives, including governance and sourcing strategies as well as organisational structures that enable data democratisation.
D&AI Use Case Development & Value Realisation: End-to-end advisory from identifying high-potential AI/ML opportunities to developing business cases, prioritising implementation roadmaps, and establishing ROI measurement frameworks to track and demonstrate value.
D&AI Architecture & Platform Advisory: Combining architectural assessments with platform selection guidance, providing vendor-independent recommendations for optimal data ecosystem design.
Data Migration, Integration & Pipeline Support: Providing strategic guidance on data migration and integration approaches, logical pipeline design, and data flow orchestration, based on best-practice architectural patterns that enable seamless data movement across the organisation.
Insight Delivery & Visualisation Design: Comprehensive advisory on transforming data into actionable insights through effective dashboard design, visualisation best practices, and self-service analytics capabilities that drive data-informed decision making.
D&AI Products & Service Design: Advisory on designing, developing, and commercialising data products and AI-enabled services, including monetisation strategies, product roadmaps, and go-to-market approaches that create new revenue streams.
As a senior member of the Data & AI practice, your key responsibilities will cover client delivery, business development, people development, and key contribution to our thought leadership. Depending on your level of experience you will be expected to:
Lead & Deliver Engagements: Manage data strategy and architecture engagements with our clients, responsible for the day-to-day running of the engagements, likely acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
Develop New Business: Be a subject matter expert leading and/or supporting sales activity across the full lifecycle from pre-sales support, identification of Data and AI opportunities through to scoping the delivery phase of engagements.
Thought leadership & Proposition Ownership: Be a key voice in our Data and AI community and externally, developing data-related propositions and approaches to common client challenges, sharing knowledge, and creating thought leadership and marketing materials that support sales efforts.
People Development: Act as an example and go-to for more junior members of the team, by sharing knowledge, mentoring, and leading by example. Possibly provide line management and career development directly as part of our career development manager framework.
Maintain Expertise: Stay current with the market, most especially in different data technologies, platforms, and solutions that are relevant to client challenges or needs.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role we would like coverage across a significant majority of the below:
Significant consulting experience, client-facing, or equivalent tenure in relevant industries with a focus on data and AI initiatives.
Demonstrable experience in data and / or AI strategy and operating model disciplines, having been responsible for developing and delivering strategic data and/ or AI/ML initiatives and defining optimal organisational structures for the Data & AI functions either within a wider technology function or a business unit.
Experience of helping organisations identify and prioritise high-value use cases for advanced analytics, machine learning and AI/GenAI.
Strong understanding of data ecosystem components including data lakes, data warehouses, data mesh architectures, and associated architectural patterns.
Strong understanding of methodologies and principles of data science and MLOps, including model development, validation, and lifecycle management.
Experience in data pipeline design, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration approaches and appreciation of trade-offs associated with specific use-cases and architectural choices.
Knowledge of data visualisation good practices and experience in designing effective dashboards and reporting solutions for effective decision making.
Familiarity with data product development methodologies and data monetisation strategies.
Experience with one or more cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or cloud-native data services in Azure, AWS, GCP.
Demonstrable experience in leading or delivering large data migrations and/or transformation programmes.
Key Consulting Competencies:
Exceptional interpersonal skills spanning organisational levels, including ability to present to executive level stakeholders.
Leadership in team management, junior staff development, and coaching.
Crafting impactful presentations and high-quality reports that can frame complex options, recommendations, and required decisions for a variety of technology and business stakeholders.
Ability to bridge technical and business domains, translating between data practitioners and business stakeholders.
Experience in owning, building, and maintaining a sales pipeline for D&AI services through prospecting and farming existing account relationships.
Desirable Qualifications:
Sector Experience – Significant experience in one or more of the following sectors: Banking, Wealth & Asset Management, Insurance, Healthcare & Lifesciences, Energy & Utilities, Public Sector
Data Platforms – Certifications in Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or other industry-standard data platforms
Cloud Data Services – Certifications such as AWS Data Analytics Specialty, Azure Data Engineer, Google Professional Data Engineer

Employees are not required to work in a Wavestone office on a full-time basis but are required to commute to the office /client site, whenever necessary. Wavestone UK office is in the heart of the city of London.
Note: Mandatory 2-3 days per week in Wavestone office / client site during probation.
