Role Overview
This position is to take on a high-impact role within the Data Insights org of Coupang Advertising and to helps us deliver on our team’s mission to “Be the go-to source for advertising effectiveness in retail media”. We are looking for enthusiastic and naturally curious candidates to help us educate our advertising clients about behavioral and shopping trends. We offer you the opportunity to become the knowledge expert across a broad range of user insight/ behavior challenges, be that the typical research and purchase behavior for seasonal events, like Chuseok, or unique observations about shoppers in Consumer Electronics or Groceries product categories. You will directly enable the Coupang Ads team to provide a data-driven consultancy for advertisers. You will further indirectly help companies to better understand their business opportunities on Coupang – our work frequently gets published at Coupang online seminars, Coupang events as well as on the Coupang Ads website. What You Will Do
- Provide data modelling, business and advertising effectiveness and Coupang Retail insights that enable our advertising clients to reach their media objectives, for example increasing product sales on Coupang.
- Apply effective storytelling skills to clearly communicate your meaningful insight to a non-technical audience.
- Work in cross-functional teams (e.g., analysts, business development, marketing, designers, etc.) to amplify the impact of your and your team’s work be that in the form of internal/ external events, online seminars, publishing insights to the Coupang Ads website.
- Perform prototyping to advance Coupang’s reporting and insights capabilities
Essential Qualifications
- Have a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science
- More than 5 years of data analysis and practical experience
- 3+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- 2+ years of machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, and parameters that affect their performance experience
- Someone who has experience in establishing and verifying hypotheses using various analysis techniques, and solving problems by making logical inferences and deriving insights based on the results
- Someone who has experience leading projects by collaborating with various related departments and taking actions such as data-based communication and proposals based on their own analysis results
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills in Korean
Preferred Qualifications
- Those who have experience using data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power-BI)
- Anyone with experience in business consulting based on data analysis. Ideally, experience and ability to translate technical aspects of analysis and metrics into actionable insights for the advertiser and both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated expertise in AI/ML, forecasting, predictive models, classification, clustering and other advanced data science applications
- Someone who can speak business English
- A person with a proven ability to guide and grow team members, be that as a people manager or in a project lead role

- The employment type of this position is regular including 12 weeks probationary period.

Document Return Policy
- This notification is given pursuant to Article 11 (6) of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act.
- A job applicant, who has applied but not been finally selected for a position at Coupang (the “Company”), may request the Company to return his/her hiring documents submitted pursuant to the Fair Hiring Procedure Act. - A job applicant who wishes to request the return of his/her hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above should fill out a “Request for Return of Hiring Documents” [Annex Form No. 3 in the Enforcement Rule of the Fair Hiring Procedure Act] and submit the request to the Company (Coupang Recruiting Team, Tower 730, 570 Songpa-daero, Songpa-gu, Seoul). In such case, within fourteen (14) days from the date of identifying the receipt of the request, the Company will send the hiring documents to the job applicant’s designated address via registered mail. - In preparation for a job applicant’s request for the return of hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above, the Company shall retain the original hiring documents submitted by the job applicant for 180 days from the completion of the recruiting process. If no request is made until the end of this period, all of his/her hiring documents will be destroyed immediately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
- Hiring may be restricted in case the legal qualifications required for hiring and work performance are not met.
