Salary: circa £60,000

Are you someone who loves to lead and innovate in the field of data engineering? We are on the lookout for a Team Lead to manage our data development team, responsible for delivering IT data solutions across Aviva. As demand for data continues to grow across the organization, we need an experienced team lead with a technology background to manage development projects through the full project lifecycle, with a specific focus on ETL/data storage (data lake/warehouse) in an Amazon Web Service environment.

This is a great opportunity for a technology-aware individual to lead a team of developers working on market-leading technologies across a series of high-impact projects.

A bit about the job:

• Oversee the development of data solutions across the Aviva software development lifecycle.

• Lead a team of up to 15 developers and technical analysts in a multi-project environment.

• Drive innovation on our data technology platforms, ensuring we deliver optimal solutions for our customers.

• Report progress on development projects, estimate costs and efforts for new work, and act as an escalation point for any development-related matters.

• Ensure development standards are adhered to, and solutions are safely implemented and handed over to application support teams when they go live.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Demonstrable experience leading a team with a strong conceptual understanding of data and associated technologies.

• Drive, initiative, and a can-do attitude to deliver projects and make significant improvements in how data is consumed across Aviva.

• Experience working within and managing a small team through the software development lifecycle.

• Strong ability to influence, solve problems in a structured manner, and present technical concepts in easy-to-understand terms for business stakeholders.

• Experience working on cloud platforms, preferably AWS, S3, EMR Glue, Postgres, and Snowflake.

• Starting salary £60,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
